5 sur 5Fall Visit to Burnsville
octobre 29, 2012
My wife and I stayed at the Terrell House in Burnsville while visiting friends and looking at property in the area. While we have visited Burnsville on several occasions, this was our first time staying at the Terrell House. We could not have been happier. The inn keepers were not only outstanding hosts, they have become new friends and ones we will want to see again when we visit the area. Mike and Laura were gracious, knowlegeable, and extremely helpful. When we had an issue withh our car the day before we were scheduled to depart, they both offered their time to help us out in any matter they could. We are already looking forward to our next visit, and it most certainly will include staying at the Terrell House. P.S. for Mike. Perhaps the next UF game we watch together will turn out differently! We had a wonderful experience. We would encourage everyone to visit and stay in this exquisite one of a kind historic home. We will definitely visit in the future. The owner and staff are extremely friendly and courteous. This turn of the century remarkable house was rehabilitated with high end amenities’, every space has been updated, and it has been modernized with beautifully appointed bathrooms and kitchens, and air conditioning. The decoration and the ambient are very sophisticated with an eclectic—historical period style with beautiful antiques, paintings, and elegant curtains. Every space is kept up in style and super, super clean. The courtyard is great space to hang out after breakfast or in the late afternoon before going to dinner. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite home across from the large home. Our suite had a small living room, kitchenette, and a modern bathroom with white linen, large dove soap, large dove shampoo, and beautiful curtains. Our suite just is lovely, the A/C worked perfectly. The breakfasts are delicious, with 100% white linen place mats and napkins, starched and ironed, real silverware, elegant plates, glasses and goblets. We could not wait for the next day to see what our chef had in store for us for our morning meal. The location is perfect, in a quiet neighborhood without the bustle of the downtown, a unique place, not like the run of the mill cookie cutter large hotels. It is within walking distant from the bus or trolley to the French quarter, a walk to the Convention Center. We discovered a beatnik artistic style neighborhood just a walk away. In this up and coming neighborhood we enjoyed the art studios of young artists, antiques shops with wonderful pieces, and scrumptious foods in unique restaurants.

Breakfast each morning was served at a time convenient to me; fresh biscuits, eggs of all different kinds, grits, and hand cut fruit. I was so spoiled it was hard to come home. The service was outstanding; if I needed anything, someone was there in a second. When I arrived mid-evening and asked about finding a liquor store, the owner gave me a bottle of wine! I was there for a conference, it's an easy walk to the Convention Center and in the wonderful lower garden district in the Magazine St. neighborhood. I can't wait to go back. Thanks to everyone for such a wonderful stay!

5 out of 5The Best of NOLA

Elegant, comfortable, beautifully restored home...the essence of fine Southern living. Miss Linda, the proprietor, is the consummate hostess. She and her staff are solely focused on the comfort of their guests. Wonderful food, beautifully served. The gracious period mansion and lush courtyards provide perfect indoor and outdoor living space. A short walk down Magazine St is a collection of eclectic shops to explore and friendly venues for dining. Terrell House is not just a place to sleep, it's the fabric of the New Orleans experience. Don't miss it!
5 out of 5Absolutely Perfect!
février 18, 2009
My husband and I flew in in from Chicago to stay over Valentine's Day weekend. Our flight was several hours late and so we didn't get in until after 3:00 am. Linda (proprietor) woke up to welcome us and let us in. Despite the late hour she was extremely friendly and hospitable. That was pretty much reflective of the entire weekend. For starters, the house is absolutely gorgeous. We felt so decadent surrounded by antiques in this grand mansion. Everything we could possible want was provided for, from the delicious breakfast (Linda's scones are out of this world), to the waters and sodas that were replaced without charge. The location in divine, steps from St. Charles and moments from all the boutiques on Magazine St. We were able to see all the parades, but weren't disturbed by the Mardi Gras chaos. All and all, it is the most perfect place we have ever stayed. We plan on returning for next Valentine's Day!
