Arepas (corn cakes)

Ingrédients

  • 2 1/2 cups Pre cooked corn flour (Harina P.A.N. found at specialty SOuth American stores)
  • 2 1/2 cups Luke warm water (for fluffier cakes, use sparkling water)
  • 1 tablespoon Kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar

  1. Pour the water in a bowl
  2. Add the salt and sugar
  3. Slowly add the P.A.N. corn meal
  4. Knead until smooth and form on disc shape (recommend to make a small ball and flatten softly with both hands until desired thickness)
  5. Lightly oil a pan and place Arepas; they will be done when brown and toasty on the outside.
