Thank you. We live in a magical city and we like to share its many aspects. New Orleans is like a kaleidoscope. You never know what you'll find when you turn a corner. Our neighborhood is short, picturesque stroll to the main attractions but it is a world of its own. There is a lot happening around our inn that is off the usual tourist radar. If, or should I say when, you come back to New Orleans, we'll be delighted to see you again and show you more of what this amazing city has to offer.

Will definitely return

Having read others' reviews, my expectations were high and I was not disappointed. The innkeepers know their city and were very helpful as we made our plans each day. They also know their business. We felt very welcome and cared for. The rooms were very clean and well appointed. Breakfast was substantial and delicious, with something special and different each day! When I return to New Orleans, I will stay at La Belle Esplanade.

A Must-Stay for New Orleans!

5 sur juin 06, 2016

Central (and gorgeous) location with comfortable and beautiful eclectic accommodations. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable proprietors with great taste in breakfast selections, unique for every day of the stay. Tons of recommendations for where to go, tailored for the kinds of experiences you value most. Don't miss this place!

Réponse du propriétaire
We aren't licensed to cook on the premises so, instead, we go out to local neighborhood establishments: bakeries, delis, caterers, farmers' markets, and we pick out what we think will be interesting for our guests. This way, you get a taste of all the various parts of New Orleans that make this city such a wonderful place. Thank you very much for choosing to stay with us. We hope you'll be back to see us again so that we can pick up our morning conversations right where we left off. Cheers! -M&M.

The Gem of New Orleans.

Melanie and Matthew are excellent tour guides and the gracious hosts. We can't praise them enough and the wonderful gem that is La Belle Esplanade. Thank you so much for a grand time.

Réponse du propriétaire
Thank you. We know a lot about the city, not just our neighborhood, but all of them, and all the history and all the different social sciences that make up academically knowing a place. Then, we also know the culture. We love it here and we hope that our enthusiasm for all things New Orleans comes through. That's what we try to share. Please come back to see us anytime. There is always more to discover here. Cheers! -M&M.

Personal Touches

5 sur mai 15, 2016

La Belle is set apart from other B&Bs, not by the beautiful, historic neighborhood centered halfway between the French Quarter and City Park.....La Belle is unique because the engaging hosts, Melanie and Matthew, pay attention to detail, and more importantly take a personal interest in their guests. So while my stay in the spacious, delightful Pelican Suite was comfortable, it was the handwritten notes before and !fter my visit and the warm conversations throughout the days that made my visit most memorable. Yes, Melanie and Matthew, you indeed made a friend. With a hug.

Réponse du propriétaire
When we started as innkeepers neither of us had a background in hospitality. Not in the professional sense, at least. We both knew how to be hospitable to friends and family. Maybe that's an asset. We enjoy meeting new people, talking about the city and what interests them, and sharing what we know about New Orleans culture. New Orleans really is an amazing place. We're glad you chose to experience it with us. Come back anytime, -M&M.

Fabulous b and b

Matthew and Melanie were amazing hosts and fabulous ambassadors to New Orleans.

Réponse du propriétaire
We see our profession as not only being innkeepers but also being goodwill ambassadors for this wonderful city we call home. This review is short and to the point, so my response will be the same: Thanks for staying with us and don't be strangers in the future. With a handshake, -M&M.

Stay here!

5 sur avril 08, 2016

Stop looking for other places and stay with Matthew & Melanie at La Belle Esplanade. In a beautiful section away from the noise of the quarter, La Belle was amazing. From Matthew's well chosen breakfast choices to daily conversations with other guests & great recommendations for sight seeing. We stayed 5 nights and wished we had booked on longer. Our hosts were very well versed in the culture, atmosphere & must sees. Stay here and let them make you feel right at home & this B&B. Looking forward to our next trip Gregg & Richard

You two were a pleasure to meet and to have stay with us. We do hope to see you again in December. We love our part of the city---it's close to the things you know about New Orleans, but it's in the heart of many delightful things you won't know until you get here. It's a city full of surprises. We look forward to seeing you soon. Cheers! -M&M

Perfect Choice

5 sur avril 04, 2016

Our first visit to New Orleans and La Belle Esplanade was the perfect choice for our 5-night stay. As others have said, Matthew and Melanie are charming, knowledgeable hosts. We looked forward to breakfast each morning to see what delectable plates Matthew discovered prowling local sources. We stayed in the Clio Suite on the second floor, literally a "home-away-from-home", spacious and welcoming with period furnishings, fridge, snacks, hot pot, and balcony overlooking Esplanade Avenue. With the trees leafing out, it felt like a tree house. Very convenient location; no need for a car. Just steps from the bus stops and easy walking to the French Quarter and City Park/Museum/Botanical and Sculpture Gardens. If you are planning a trip to New Orleans, stay here! Home away from home in the Big Easy

5 sur avril 02, 2016

We loved our stay at La Belle Esplanade and have been homesick for New Orleans ever since our departure. The location was absolutely ideal, just outside the French Quarter. Matthew and Melanie are charming, warm hosts who give great advice on how to experience the best the city has to offer. Our room was delightful, the breakfasts delicious. We adored our time and can't wait to return!

Réponse du propriétaire
Our inn is your home while you are here. You can't cook here, but otherwise you should feel comfortable coming and going and you should sleep well. Ours is a quiet city neighborhood. We are close to the French Quarter, but a world apart. We hope you'll be back to see us. We can pick up the conversation where we left off. With a handshake, -M&M.
