The little cottages are nice and clean, and you will be staying out in the country! Nothing like waking up to animals out in the pasture. The breakfast is a wonderful southern country breakfast. We love staying at places off the beaten path.

We had an amazing time at Loyd Hall. The rooms were incredible, the staff was very helpful, charming and knowledgeable about the plantation's rich history, the breakfast was amazing(I didn't like grits until I had them here!) and throw in a few ghosts to boot! We would go back in a heartbeat.
4,8 sur 5great B&B!!

My husband & I wanted a quick, local get-away and were interested in a B&B. I knew about Loyd Hall, but had never visited, so I found Loyd Hall online and made reservatons for the Jenkins suite in the mansion. We were so thrilled with the gorgeous renovations, the exquisite furnishings and the attention to historic detail. The 3 cottages located on the grounds were rented out to different families, but we barley noticed each other! The peace and quiet was just what we needed and everything was so comfortable. The lazy Bayou Boeuf flows in front of the masion, which completed the beautiful setting. Beulah cooked a great country breakfast and entertained us with the history of Loyd Hall, even telling us about her "other worldly" visitations. Unfortunately, we didn't experience any ghosts! But maybe we'll get lucky next time because we will be back for more visits! We love this place!

The cottage was charming - the whole property is charming!! The fireplace in the room was awesome. The breakfast was very ordinary and the taste was marginal. My suggestion would be to improve the taste and possibly add some flair with some local Louisiana cooking/additions. Interesting jellies or something to make it "special" for the guests.

This was the second time my fiancée and I have been to Loyd Hall and we enjoyed it tremendously both times. Beautiful, comfortable, secluded, all one could ask for for a romantic weekend.
4,4 out of 5The Most Wonderful Breakfast
mars 04, 2013
We stayed one night in Gracie's house. It was large and accommodating with plenty of beds. If you have a portable smoke detector I would take it along, I did not see any smoke alarms in the house. Other than that it was a great place for my whole family to stay. We were seven adults and a baby. Room and baths enough for everyone. It was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was the best. An authentic, delicious, southern breakfast served on the most beautiful plantation porch by the sweetest lady. It was AWESOME.

What a refreshing change from the run-of-the-mill hotel! We are in Alexandria almost every January for a conference and this is the first time I have persuaded my husband to stay the few extra miles outside the city. We are both glad that we did! It is a little drive but well worth it for the quiet, the history, and the beauty of this well-preserved plantation. Beulah is a true delight as your hostess! She will tell you as much or as little as you want to know about "her place"...she has been here close to 40 years. You can stay in the mansion, which is simply gorgeous, or you may stay in one of the out buildings that are beautifully appointed and each have their own private bath. Breakfast is served each morning in the mansion sunroom and they have a good spread each day. Everything g is beautifully arranged and so good. You can take a tour of the plantation after breakfast if you plan ahead with Beulah. We have already booked for next year! Why stay in a hotel when you can drive a few extra minutes to the peace and quiet of the countryside and relive a little bit of history and enjoy this beautiful home and all it has to offer?!
