Wow! I was fortunate to experience 4 nights of endless pampering at the finest Bed and Breakfast ever-Central Park of Louisville. Eva and Robert were the perfect innkeepers from sun up to sun set and beyond. Amazing accommodations, impressive 5 star quality dining which centralizes around a home which invites one to inhale the beauty of our senses. Eva and Robert dedicate their business to pleasing their guests. Every second of my time with the Wessels, displayed their commitment to making my trip to Louisville so perfect and memorable. I have never stayed at a place whereby the guests are treated like royalty. It is rather sad to leave the Central Park Bed and Breakfast and return to normal life in the Hudson Valley section of New York. I shall be returning as a regular guest to this impressive, impeccable and inviting inn. Bravo to the Wessels for sharing hospitality to everyone. I loved each day at the Central Park Bed and Breakfast of Louisville, KY. My favorite inn is Central Park Bed and Breakfast. Stellar place which should receive a rating much higher than outstanding.

If you want a B&B with great service, clean rooms, comfortable beds, and a ridiculously wonderful breakfast, this is IT. We have stayed twice and each time it exceeds the time before. You'd pay $40 per plate for the breakfast they serve, so the price of the rooms doesn't end up being that expensive. Throw in the wine bar, fresh baked cookies, snack bar, and cold refreshments in the fridge, and staying here is a no brainer. We HIGHLY recommend it...

We have traveled all over the country and stayed at many different B and B's, but the 4 days at the Central Park B and B were the absolute BEST! It all starts with the wonderful innkeepers, Eva and Bob, who open their home to their guests and go out of their way to meet your every need. Eva is an incredible chef, so we started each day with a gourmet feast that not only tasted delicious, but looked beautiful. The house is well preserved, lovingly maintained and beautifully decorated with Eva and Bob's extensive collection of antiques. We loved our bedroom, the Peacock Room, which was spacious and well appointed with antiques, but all the necessary modern appointments. The bed was luxurious, from the silky smooth sheets to the warm fluffy down comforter. The amenities include 24 hour snacks (including homemade cookies!), tea, soft drinks and wine in the evening, DVD players and an extensive DVD library. The location is perfect with plenty of free parking and Eva and Bob are very knowledgeable of local history and attractions. They really made this a memorable experience!

Central Park Bed and Breakfast is a fantastic establishment. The B&B is in a wonderful location across the street from a historic park and just moments away from all the fun places in Old Louisvile. I stayed in the Carriage House with my wife and dog on the 22nd of December and we liked it so much we stayed their again on the 28th. The owners are committed to customer service and go the extra mile to make sure you not only enjoy the B&B but everything Old Louisville has to offer. They even saved a bone from their rib roast to give to our plott hound! Lastly, the breakfast is a five star experience with high quality gourmet ingredients that are cooked to perfection. We will stay here everytime we are in Louisville from now on.

We booked this reservation last minute, as we had planned to stay at a regular hotel during our one night stay in Louisville. A quick call to Robert, however, secured us a suite on the top floor with no hassles whatsoever. The location was within easy walking distance of tons of eateries and attractions, and the room was absolutely perfect. We enjoyed everything about our choice of Central Park, except the short duration. We will definitely stay again when we make it up to Louisville again. Oh, and one of the standouts would have to be the amazing breakfast that Eva prepared. Positively top notch!

Our stay at Central Park B and B was romantic, delicious and comfortable in every possible way. The hosts were knowledgeable about the area, and aided us in finding restaurants that suited us perfectly. The B and B is located in Old Louisville, which is a "must-see" for all who love Victorian mansions, decor and antiques. We are looking forward to a return trip!

We have stayed in B & B's from the West Coast to Europe. This has been one of our best experiences. The room was both beautiful and comfortable, the food was excellent and we were made to feel very welcome when we arrived. Jim & Kathy

Our girl's weekend started of great when we stumbled across Bob and Eva's beautiful B&B. Such a lucky find! From the moment we entered the grand foyer, it felt like home. Prepare to relax and bask in the glow of Eva's gourmet cooking and Bob's hospitality.

It had been several years since we stayed at a bed and breakfast, and this turned into such a refreshing retreat. The accommodations were delightful--we loved all the wood and stained glass--but that was the smallest part of the package. The innkeepers were fun and full of knowledge about Louisville and the immediate area. They gave us some great suggestions for dinner and things to do while in Louisville, and even planned an impromptu wedding for one of the other guests. Breakfast was a feast! and a treat to the tastebuds. We had such a great time that we are already planning for future trips in the Fall.

My partner and I were visiting Louisville for a wedding, and stayed with Robert and Eva for three days. I am so glad we did. The room was lovely, and clean, and we were very comfortable in the guest lounge - with tea, coffee, wine … or a little after dinner port …. as part of the service. Eva is a fabulous cook. Her breakfasts were varied, creative and so tasty. I like to cook myself, and she was more than happy to share her many tips and ideas for lovely southern food. She and Robert also provided us with several excellent eat-out suggestions, and we were the grateful recipients of their service and advice. The B&B is in a lovely part of town, Old Louisville. We loved walking around the area - the residents have put a lot into this place (including resident funded gas lamps in Belgravia) and it gives the whole area a pretty, fairy-tale feel.

Spent a weekend here with a dear friend, and could not have been more pleased! Bob & Eva were so very helpful and friendly! Eva is, and I assure you I have some experience in the field, truly an excellent cook. Another reviewer here said "Breakfast is like being a part of a Southern Living article" and I could not agree more! And there was always some kind of homemade treat in the "snack nook" by the back stairs (where guests can help themselves to tea, coffee, pretzels, chips, etc., with port & wine in the evening.) Eva even sent cake with us when we left. Our room was comfortable, and I slept very soundly, more so than at home, in fact. The house was grand, and I especially admired the antiques that filled the house. A pretty fringed chair in the boudoir, sterling and china in the curio, an ivory-framed miniature in the front hall... Oh, and the stained glass windows over the fireplace and on the stairs- gorgeous. Our room had a huge flat screen TV - not that we turned it on more than once! - they are upgrading the TVs in all the rooms. During our stay, there was an artist working on a mural stretching from the third floor down the back stairs, very pretty. They really should post more photos.

I surprised my wife with a night here for Valentine's Day. Robert and Eva were wonderful hosts who made us feel extremely welcomed. The home is beautiful and smelled wonderful due to the muffins Eva had just pulled out of the oven when we arrived. We stayed in the Rose Garden room which was a real treat. It has the most comfortable bed I have ever experienced. The three course breakfast was amazing. I particularly enjoyed the waffles! This is a great place to stay when in Louisville. Thanks to Robert and Eva!

Our stay at Central Park B&B was more than we had hoped it would be. Bob and Eva are excellent hosts, making sure our stay in Louisville was very enjoyable. Our room was comfortable, the house was filled with interesting antiques, and the breakfasts were fantastic. Eva could work in a 5 star restaurant! We certainly would recommend this lovely place to everyone.

Talk about a magical experience! Over the New Year’s holiday weekend, I was looking forward to introducing my girlfriend to the fun and relaxing B&B experience. However, the first bed and breakfast inn we visited almost ruined that all important “first impression” by lying about the amenities their property offered and then becoming rude enough that we canceled the remainder of our stay, opting for another bed and breakfast within walking distance. Thank goodness that we left that inn and chose this one! Now, after a couple days of small personal touches, quiet enjoyment, and the warm hospitality we received, we are off to the New Year rejuvenated and happy…and we couldn't help but want to share our amazing experience with others who are considering being a guest with Central Park Bed and Breakfast in Louisville, Kentucky. This refreshing establishment gave us exactly what we asked for—and so much more. It was like having our own personal genie in a lamp, with the “your wish is my command” service and attention we received. If you decide to visit this magical place, make sure to bring your genie lamp. And give that thing a rub. See what happens! Danny Welsh mysuccesscoach_dan (at) yahoo (dot) com 727 804 3579 P.S. Don’t take just my word for it. I think Robert and Eva (the inn-keepers of this establishment) are a little behind the times on the social media revolution…so you probably don’t see many reviews here…but you should read the journals full of hundreds upon hundreds of glowing hand-written reviews that are scattered about the mansion.

Bob and Eva clearly love running their B&B and treat all of their guests like royalty. For our two night stay we enjoyed complimentary wine and home-made hors d'oeuvres from Eva's kitchen. Their prices are fair and well worth the value. Will definitely visit again!

I've stayed in many B&Bs, and the Central Park B&B is one of a kind. Bob and Eva are gracious, generous, warm hosts. Eva's 3-course breakfasts are truly unbelievable (our first included baked apples, sticky buns, eggs with havarti cheese, fresh fruit, French toast souffles, applewood bacon, and mimosas); she uses only pure, organic ingredients, and she cooks with heart! Bob waited up until we arrived at 1:00 a.m., after 15 hours of plane delays and cancellations. They both have spent time researching the Victorian period; their attention to detail throughout the house is wonderful. And the beds! Lovely, comfortable--perfect after a day of conferencing or sightseeing. Coffee, tea, sodas, chips, and brownies were available all day, every day we were there, with wine and port added in the evenings. Across from Central Park, the B&B is close to bus stops, or a $6 cab ride to the Convention center. Go at Christmas if you can. The B&B was on the Louisville Tour of Homes this year, dressed in all its finery. If you plan to spend time in Louisville, definitely try to get rooms at Central Park B&B!

We enjoyed the Central Park B&B so much that we added a night to our stay. We had a fantastically comfortable and private room (the Rose Garden Suite), and the breakfasts were so sumptuous that I took photos with my cellphone. They tasted as good as they looked. The B&B is in Old Louisville, a delightful Victorian area that has been lovingly restored. Yet it's close to downtown to the north and Churchill Downs to the south. We'll return someday since it was so much fun.

My daughter and I just got back from a 4 night stay in Louisville at the Central Park B & B. I'm not sure but it might need to be called a breakfast and bed instead of a bed and breakfast! Eva outdoes herself with the food! Breakfast is like being a part of a Southern Living article. Bob and Eva are warm and gracious hosts who go out of their way to make your stay memorable. The bedroom we stayed in was very comfortable and all of the rooms are divinely decorated yet livable. I can't say enough about this B & B and the owners Bob and Eva. You become part of their family when you stay there. I highly recommend it.

Felt very cared for and welcome. This was our first stay at a B&B and it won't be our last! We received ROYAL treatment from Bob & Eva. The rooms were clean and beautifully done, Eva's breakfasts were scrumptious! Best I've ever had. She went out of her way to meet my husband's special diet needs. We look forward to staying wiht Bob and Eva again and will recommend Central Park to our friends and family. It was truly a pleasure to stay there!!

Having familiarity with Louisville, Ky and with this neighborhood, my wife and I decided on this exquisite Bed and Breakfast. From late March through mid April, 2010, we spent nine days at the Central Park Bed and Breakfast and found the stay to be trip back in time. We contemplated staying at one of the downtown hotels, but the rooms, décor, and beds at the Bed and Breakfast are much more spacious and elegant compared to local hotels. Returning to Louisville for a family reunion and to attend “Thunder over Louisville” we wanted to spend time savoring the magnificent old homes and antique neighborhood that one can find on south Fourth and Third Streets. What a delight to walk through Central Park, Belgravia Court, and two streets full of old time mansions all restored to their original beauty as spring in Louisville unfolded. In addition to all the stately, old homes and mansions the area is flush with many magnificent old buildings and churches. Central Park Bed &Breakfast is beautifully restored both inside and outside—elegantly decorated with a wide variety of antiques. The owner, his wife and staff were superb inns keepers offering outstanding service, accommodations and meals. If one needs to drive around the City of Louisville, this location is near freeway ramps providing easy freeway access across the entire City. In addition, Fourth St is a main bus route providing easy access to other parts of downtown Louisville.

We had booked a standard room, but due to a mix up, we were graciously upgraded to the Rose Garden suite. I walked into the room and fell in love. It has all the charm I wanted in a Victorian mansion, but also the amenities of today. The bathroom was beautifully done in white and gray marble with a huge jetted tub with a skylight above. The king bed was very plush. But my favorite room is the sitting room. It has 6 skylights and a huge window looking into the trees. Since the room is on the 3rd floor, I felt like I was in a tree house. The room is furnished in period pieces, but it has a very modern flat screen TV above a gas fire place. I sat on the sofa drinking a complimentary glass of wine looking out at the trees and I felt as though I had found another home. Breakfast the next morning was superb. I enjoy touring mansions and they all have huge dining rooms set with beautiful china evoking the feelings of sumptuous elegance, and for the first time, I was able to take part in this fairy tale. The dining room at Central Park B&B is a show piece. I felt very glamorous sitting at a huge table under the crystal chandelier sipping on mimosas while eating a superb breakfast. I will be staying here again.

This B&B is a brillant gem! The neighborhood is super being right beside Central Park and the beautiful St. James Court where we could walk and gaze at so many beautiful historic homes. The hospitality of Bob and Eva is really wonderful being very friendly, relaxed and so helpful. We all loved the gourmet breakfasts and the tea and snacks at night and the rooms are very well done. When we return to Louisville we will stay again at Central Park B&B!

Through the Select Registry we found this delightful bed and breakfast housed in an old victorian home immediately across from Central Park, and thus just minutes from U. of Louisville, downtown, or expressways to anywhere in Louisville. Bob and Eva Wessel, owners, met us at the front door, made us feel very welcome and graciously helped us into our accomodations. Because we were traveling with two small dogs, we stayed in their carriage house, which had a complete kitchen plus a large and comfortably furnished bedroom/ lounging area. (The two leather sofas converted into beds for those traveling with children.) Over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, we were the Wessels' only guests, and were able to tour the seven beautifully appointed rooms in the main house. Each was tastefully decorated with a combination of antiques and period reproduction pieces. The Wessels have an eye for detail. The most strking feature of the rooms were the spacious baths, which had been designed with the same eye for Victorian detail but which included state-of-the-art plumbing, including large jacuzzi tubs in most, plus all the amenities that you would find in a luxury hotel. My wife and I vowed to return without the pets so that we can stay in one of the main house rooms. And then there were the breakfasts! Eva Wessel has a passion and a flair for cooking and baking. We were there four days and enjoyed four completely different, gourmet three-course breakfasts. Especially memorable were a starter course of poached pears with a rich cream sauce, the best eggs benedict I have ever had, homemade scones, and made-from-scratch waffels (we had to choose these the day before so that Eva could let the yeast rise overnight!). Each day we let the Wessels know when we would be out so that they could service our room in our absence. A thoroughly enjoyable experience at a reasonable price.
