  • In Galway City centre The Herons Rest lies nestled on the banks of the river Corrib over looking the traditional Claddagh harbour. Winner of Georgina campbells B&B of the Year & B&B best breakfast and also a member of The Bridgestone Top 100 Places to stay in Ireland since 2004. It has been listed as one of the top 5 romantic destinations by Foods & wine magazine This idyllic waterside location is only 3 mins from the hustle and bustle of the centre of town and the craic of Quay street. Each double en-suite bedroom has stunning views overlooking the Claddagh harbour and the famous Galway bay. All rooms have been recently redecorated in keeping with the cosy chic of the house. Subtle and luxurious extras such as vintage decanters of port, fine chocolate truffles, specialty tea & coffee, flat screen multi-channel tvs. and all natural locally produced toiletries enhance your stay. Outside the water is teaming with wildlife, such as, otters, herons and the largest colony of swans in western Europe. Traditional boats, the Galway Hookers can be watched setting sail from your bedroom window and binoculars enhance the view that stretches across to the Burren Hills. We aim to offer a home from home experience and each morning the smell of fresh baking fills the air.  Breakfast is served between 8- 11 and may be received in your room. Irish farmhouse cheeses, natural juices and organic local yogurts accompany an 8 gourmet dish menu.  Breakfast is a convivial feast with your host cooking to order in front of you whilst sharing travelling tips, recommending routes and arranging tours as requested.  At the Herons Rest are passionate about hospitality and look forward to extending a warm welcome to you.
