A Civil War Era brick home constructed in 1864, situated near downtown Bloomington in central Illinois. The Burr House B&B is located in the city's historic district across from Franklin Park. Six rooms are available, including 1 suite with a private bath and sitting room, 3 rooms with private bath and 2 with a shared bath. The home has 3 marble fireplaces, ornate plaster ceilings, inlaid wood floors and a formal dining room where breakfast is served. We now also have wireless internet available throughout the house. A variety of stately trees and an outdoor private terrace is all surrounded by a wrought iron fence. Attractions within walking distance include antique shops, fine dining, retail shops and the communities museum and historic sites.

This was my first experience with a B&B and Mary Ann went above and beyond my expectations! She was very accommodating and welcoming, gave great suggestions for places to grab dinner and was fun to talk with over breakfast. The Queen Anne Suite was a perfect room to stay in after driving all day long. I would highly recommend staying at the Burr House.

Really appreciated how the hostess was more than willing to accommodate our two family's. There was 10 of us total & were able to stay in only 2 rooms. We had the whole 2nd floor to our selves. Our stay was very comfortable & breakfast (French Toast ) was very Delicious!

This was my first time using a B&B and the owner was so nice and the breakfast was very good. The other homes surrounding this house were also very interesting. Enjoyed the stay.

As we walked through the front door for the first time we left the 21st century and began to experience life in the late 1800's. Our room, the Queen Anne suite was impressive with bright open space, marble fireplace and a spacious bathroom. The four poster bed was extremely comfortable with very smooth sheets and a hand quilted bed covering. Our breakfast experience included daily fresh cut fruit, warm muffins, and wonderful main courses of french toast, pancakes, sausage and eggbake served on fine china. We always felt at home with a wonderful sense of being cared for as though we were visiting family. We are so thankful for our visit to Burr House as it rates as one of the best B&B's we have ever stayed at.

I have experienced staying in Bed and Breakfast Inns in several states and I have never found one as outstanding as the Burr House. The owner is great and provides more than just a superior place for guests to eat and sleep. She is personable, helpful and charming. She knows the history of the area and shares information to insure that her clients have a great stay and can locate places of interest to visit while in the area. I, personally, would not want to stay any place else when I am in the area. She has picked me up from and dropped me off at the train station. She has also dropped me off at locations on IWU campus so that I would not have to walk in the rain. The rooms are exceptional. The grounds are manicured and the decor in the house is beautiful to see. I would not only rate the Burr House as the best place to stay in Bloomington, I think it ranks among the top Bed and Breakfast in the country.

I can highly recommend the Burr House Bed and Breakfast in Bloomington IL. It has provided everything I need during my extended stay. My accommodations have always been clean, fresh and all items available. The staff is friendly, helpful and willing to go the extra mile to meet my needs. Breakfast is always ready and served hot with fresh fruit. They offer free pick-up from the Am Track station which I’ve have taken a couple of times. They are located close to down town Bloomington and the University and my room has a nice view. It's a wonderful place. Mary Ann thank you! MSE
