There are not enough superlatives to describe our lovely stay at the Lake Rabun Hotel. It is charming on the outside and inside and each room that you step into will put a smile on your face. We felt like we had taken a step back in time; perfect place to unplug, relax and chill. Close to major attractions too. Our room was cozy and clean and the bedding was perfect (we just loved the pillows). We slept like babies each night. What really makes this place special is the team that runs the hotel...from Jenna and Beth at the front desk to Robin and Josh, you feel like you are part of their family and they truly want to see their guests have a good time and enjoy and relax. We can't wait to go back and will definitely be planning an escape to Lake Rabun Hotel again.

We stayed in the innkeepers lodge It was really nice and so peaceful. The on site restaurant was spectacular. Lastly, the service was by far the best we have had.

Very well converted hunting lodge, with the original character maintained. Excellent elevated position, with the feeling of being in the trees! The staff are great, as was the In-house restaurant. A real treat and such a different hotel experience!

This a beautiful and magical place to get away. The food was spectacular. The rooms were a bit small and not on the lake but the service, food and location getaway was perfect. Great job to all the staff and innkeeper.

We pride ourselves on being able to serve a "farm-to-table" menu to both our hotel guests and the local community. We are fortunate to live in the farm to table capital of Georgia, where we have an abundance of farms to source our menu items from. We are a historic building, so yes, the rooms are small, but we feel that we make up for that with the charming atmosphere. Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts. We look forward to your return!

The hotel is quaint and rustic, a lovely and quiet escape from the bustle and heat of the Atlanta metro area. We stayed only one night and did not have the opportunity to have dinner in the dining room, but the complimentary breakfast was pretty amazing so I have no doubt that the dinner fare would be great as well. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

Thank you so much for your kind words! The next time you stay with us you will certainly have to join us on a night that we are open for dinner service (in season: Wednesday-Saturday and Sunday brunch; off season: Thursday-Saturday for dinner and Sunday brunch). We look forward to your return!

The Innkeeper's Cottage offers two bedrooms featuring queen sized beds, unique private baths with stone showers and antique dry sinks lined with copper, upgraded with modern faucets replacing the old water pumps, living room with cathedral ceiling and original stone wood fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, and a large cedar log front porch appointed with cedar Adirondack furniture. Comfortable period antiques and primitives, oriental rugs, and local fine art and crafts create an upscale eclectic mountain atmosphere. The largest and brightest room in the hotel with seven windows overlooking the front gardens and the man made waterfall. It has a cathedral ceiling supported by exposed black locust logs, beautiful wrought iron lighting fixtures from Spain, custom crafted chandelier from Montana and a King sized bed. The hotel’s early bar has been transformed into the bathroom vanity with 2 copper vessel sinks. Ideal as a bridal or honeymoon suite, it’s named for one of the original families to build a summer home on the lake in the 1920s.
Calm and serene describes this room with vaulted ceiling, braced by black locust log beams. The Queen size bed is custom made with mountain laurel headboard. Barn doors slide open to the bathroom with cedar tree based pedestal sink and parts of the original rusted metal roof reused as the bathroom ceiling.
A nod of respect to our Southern Appalachian Mountain culture, preserved and recorded by the Foxfire Museum nearby. Step into this room made of old, seasoned barn wood and you feel like you’re in another time era. It features a Queen bed under a vaulted ceiling, interesting lighting and décor, and an outstandingly quirky bathroom. Another era but with modern comforts.
We honor the occupants of this land who came before us and subscribe to their philosophy as stated in “The Native American 10 Commandments” you’ll see as you enter. You’ll also see samples of their work here. The Queen size bed has a custom-made tree bark headboard and is one of a kind. Sleep under the watchful eye of a wise Indian who protects you and your dreams.
This log cabin inspired room features hewn boards and chinking. It has a King sized bed that can be separated into two twin beds if desired. The large bathroom has a tub/shower for relaxed soaking. A little history about this region tells us that Native American hunters and gatherers arrived here over 16,000 years ago. Appalachia was a name given to the area by the Europeans who explored it a few hundred years ago. Pioneer settlers were known for their rugged individualism and self sufficiency with a desire to be away from “civilization.” Something of that spirit is still alive here. You’ll feel it in the Appalachia Room and throughout the hotel.
