    Highly Recommended!

    Me and my wife stayed here from April 5th thru April 9th, 2013. We went to the Final Four basketball games in Atlanta and wanted to stay somewhere fun within driving range of Atlanta. This place was wonderful! The house is beautiful. We stayed in the Blue Room. The breakfasts are delicious and Pam is flexible on the times which was good for us as we were getting back late from the games, especially the Championship one on Monday night (where Louisville won, GO CARDS!). The land is fabulous with horses and lots of friendly dogs! I enjoyed sitting outside and reading and drinking coffee every morning and afternoon. Pam and Larry are very friendly owners with some great stories to tell. The nearby town of Talking Rock has some good antique shops and Jasper has plently of restaurants. Highly recommended!

    A fun place to stay. Dogs and horses everywhere. Every inch of the place meticulously decorated in a ranch theme. Authentic ranchers. Delicious and unique breakfasts. Horseback riding on 50+ acres. Who could ask for more, we'll be back.

    Amazing Ranch Experience

    The moment you step into the property Larry and Pam will make you feel like part of the family. Rooms are very unique and clean, you will have a real ranch experience. Amazing breakfast will start your day right, thanks to Pam! And make sure you have a chance to meet Junior, a real cowboy, full of information about ranching! Must have experience! We will go back!!!

    My wife and I have been to quite a number of exclusive b&b's throughout the country, but nothing truly compares to the Seventy-four Ranch. The Overlook is pure rustic luxury, with a beautiful vista of a rolling pasture, embroidered hardwood paneling, couch, plenty of extra space, and even a porch with chairs -- the pictures on the website frankly just don't do it justice. We stayed on a cold, winter night and I had great fun making it perfectly cozy with the wood burning stove. The animals on the estate are for real. Pam was very informative about the locale, and it was obvious she loves what she does. What's more, she was very accommodating even after I had to change my travel dates several times. The next morning I even met a real, live cowboy wearing chaps who tames mustangs in his spare time. What an authentic ranch!

    Overlook Suite

    Our romantic cabin features a vaulted cedar ceiling and double, handmade french doors leading to a private balcony with the best view of the ranch. It has a queen bed, a wood stove, and a charming kitchenette with a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and sink. The suite is appointed with an oversize leather sofa, antiques, original art, and antique stained glass. Hand carved french doors lead to the bath which includes an 1824 claw foot tub. We are family and pet friendly. WIFI

    Porch Cabin

    This cozy and rustic cabin is furnished with a queen bed and antiques which include a 1930's Navajo rug, an 1800's trunk and vintage stained glass. A Missouri Confederate cavalry flag and a wooden Mexican saddle are displayed on one wall. Floor coverings include sheepskin and our steer hides. The cabin has a wood stove, a leather rocker, a porch and fenced side yard with adirondack chairs, a chiminea and swing. A handmade wooden door leads to a shared spacious bath. Wheelchair accessible. We are family and pet friendly. WIFI

    Saddle House

    A wood barn door opens The Saddle House, home to our best saddles and tack plus four double bunk beds originally built for our cowboys and their families. We have designed it with families and groups in mind. The large poker table is perfect for meals and games. The wood stove keeps the cabin cozy. An antique church pew holds Pendleton blankets and quilts. Small monitor for DVDs. A handmade wood door leads to a shared bath which features a large tiled shower. A spacious porch with hand carved chairs and table allows you to settle in outside. Pet friendly. Wheelchair accessible. WIFI

    Blue Room

    This charming room is upstairs, inside the historic Butler-Cape House. It has a vaulted ceiling, and a gabled window. The hardwood floors and window panes are original to the house, believed to be pre-1850. The four-poster double bed is covered with quilts and down pillows. The decor includes antiques and three original paintings. The Blue Room shares a small balcony overlooking the front of the property. It also shares a guest bath on the first floor, which has a tub/shower and is appointed with our private line of toiletries. Pet friendly. WIFI

    Hobert's Room

    This upstairs room inside the historic Butler-Cape House has a vaulted ceiling and two gabled windows. Window panes and hardwood flooring are original to the house, believed to be pre-1850. Views include the front of the property and the timber-framed Well House. The room has a trundle day bed (two twin beds) and an antique day bed. It shares a balcony on the front of the house, and a guest bath downstairs. Apointments include original photographs and a 74 Ranch steer hide. Pet friendly. WIFI. Guests may use the large screen HD TV in the living room and relax by the fire.

    Cowboy Cabin

    The Cowboy Cabin is an authentic replica of a 19th century cowboy cabin out west. It is constructed of beams rescued from a barn built in 1832. Cedar ceiling, handmade cedar bed, cedar saddle rack, wood stove and stack stone chimney. Charming wood shutters open onto a wonderful view of the pasture, with horses just a few feet from the window. In keeping with its authenticity, there is no power. Guests use oil lamps, candles and a Coleman lantern. Pendleton blankets and sheepskins on the floor keep it cozy. Shared guest bath inside main house. Pet-friendly.

    A little slice of heaven!

    It is rare to find such a slice of heaven so close to home! My wife and I packed up two of our dogs and headed North to the Seventy-four Ranch in Jasper this weekend, and were rewarded with an outstanding Bed & Breakfast experience. The rustic motif is well executed at the Seventy-four Ranch, from the antique tub to the Native American rug. Our stay in the Overlook Room transported us back to a simpler time in history, blended with just the right touch of modern amenities. The conversation with the proprietors was lively and intelligent, the breakfast meals were five-star quality and the three-acre fenced yard was much appreciated by our dogs. Local restaurants rounded out our stay with quality dinners. Before we left, we were planning our next vist to this wonderful getaway! Whether you're looking for a rustic adventure or a romantic weekend, the Seventy-four Ranch has something for all (and the dogs LOVE it!).
