4,8 sur 5A Perfect Savannah Retreat!!!
août 14, 2012
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Inn at 909 Lincoln. Not only was our room spectacular (we stayed in the Ginger Mercer room), the service received far exceeded our expectations. Elaine was accommodating, welcoming and wonderfully attentive. She was a true gem of a host and quite talented, taboot!! Elaine's eye for style and design (as evidenced by the inn's decor) is superb; not too much, not too little - it was just right. With respect to our room, the claw-foot tub was phenomenal, the bed extremely comfortable, and the balcony perfect for sipping evening cocktails. In addition, everything was spotless! Finally, as it concerns location, the inn was removed enough from the hustle-n-bustle of the downtown area but close enough to be considered walker-friendly. We highly recommend the Inn at 909 Lincoln to anyone looking for the perfect Savannah retreat - be it a solitary outing, couple or any pairing, for that matter. Thank you, Elaine, for a perfect birthday weekend and my first time in Savannah. I cannot think of a better way to have spent it!!!

I thought the home was beautiful and our room was fabulous. But the owner and helper were very loud downstairs in the morning. So, that was not very pleasant since we were very exhausted and wanted to sleep in. Not as comfortable and relaxing as other B&B we stayed.

Elaine was the perfect host, so friendly & thoughtful. My sister-in-law and I spent two nights at 909 Lincoln. We were the only ones there so Elaine had breakfast with us both mornings. We met Cricket and Frog. Very well behaved dogs. If I were going to Savannah again, I would look no farther than a call to Elaine

I have stayed in several B&Bs in my lifetime and can honestly say this was the greatest experience of all of them! Elaine is the most hospitable host I've yet to meet, with great sincere warmth you don't see often, all the while balancing a good sense of guest privacy. She was extremely helpful with telling us some tips on what to see and where to go, her cooking is fabulous, her interior design sensibility is impeccable without wandering into pretentious territory (the decor and furniture is lovely, but you're not afraid to sit on it), and she is just generally a kind soul. The room and bathroom was just to die for, with a comfy chaise lounge at the bay window, huge bed, gorgeous antiques, large bathroom with a clawfoot tub and separate shower, and a sweet little balcony off the bathroom. The home is located on a quiet, lovely, unpresuming little street right next to the heart of the city, with lots of trees and adorable homes surrounding it. On the balcony, we were able to relax with a couple glasses of wine as we watched all the bike riders pass by us. The location is perfect for the couple of avid cyclists that we are, as we could ride anywhere with great ease. My boyfriend and I had an incredibly romantic time at the Inn at 909. It truly did feel as if we were staying with family, that's how welcome and at home we felt. It is everything that we appreciate about staying at a B&B and, mark my words, we will be back! - Jenny & Harley

Elaine made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived in Savannah, with a personal call when we arrived at the airport to say hello and ensure our flight made it safely and on time. She brought her dogs Frog and Cricket to greet us and give us a tour of the house. Everything was spotless and richly decorated, with light classical music playing in the living room. She had a map ready for our walk into town with selected tips on where to grab a late lunch in downtown Savannah. We arranged a good time for breakfast the next day, and she showed us the bar area where she provides afternoon wine for her guests. We were two single ladies on a girl's weekend and stayed in a room with two double beds, AC, and a ceiling fan, where we often took a siesta to escape the 90 degree heat in the afternoons, watching movies from Elaine's own collection in our room. We spent a lovely three nights. Breakfast was fantastic every morning, from sweet berry crepes to savory eggs, sausage and homemade biscuits. Elaine's other guests were delightful as well, and we enjoyed our company and morning conversations with other travelers as much as the food! Elaine does everything from national security to pedicures, from recommendations on restaurants to avoid to the best thrift stores in town. She is a well-informed resource for tourists, an accomplished cook, and a thoughtful hostess. I highly recommend the Inn at 909 Lincoln!
4,6 out of 5Wonderful week at the 909
avril 29, 2012
The 909 was beautiful and extremely comfortable. Elaine is a terrific host and cooks like a gourmet chef. Great breakfasts. Not just bacon and eggs, but truly gourmet meals. The King Room was incredibly comfortable. We both slept like babies. the tall four poster king bed even had the obligatory step stool to be able to get up into the bed. Our room was beautifully furnished and quite roomy. Elaine was the consummate host as she helped us carry out luggage to our room, made reservations for meals in downtown Savannah and was just a bundle of information about Savannah and its' history. She even called me on my cell phone at 5:30 to remind me that we had 6:30 reservations at a restaurant on the river. Our second floor front porch, complete with wicker furniture and ceiling fan was quite comfortable and an excellent place to unwind after a full day of sightseeing. Elaine even draws great maps on how to get to places beyond the confines of Savannah. The 909 has quite a world following as our fellow guests were from California, Union of South Africa, and even Columbia South America. Conversation was lively but extremely civil. Southern hospitality rubbed off on everyone. And then there were two special friends: Frog and Crickett. They were Elaine's puppies. Friendly, well mannered and well-suited to be a lap dog, if you appreciate an 80 pound lap dog. As dog people, we loved them. My only low mark was the price. But, then again, everything in Savannah is priced higher than everywhere else we have traveled. But, we'd do it again. We're thinking about the Christmas season.

First off, Elaine is warm, personable and eager to please with a smile on her face. The gracious hostess met us at the door and took us on a tour of the home. Our room was clean, comfortable and we had our own bathroom and sitting area. The home has been restored beautifully with warm historic accents. Tea is always available and the breakfast this morning was delicious even my daughter ate every bite! I would highly recommend staying here and we were able to park our car in the gated area in back of the home and walk every where. Thank you Elaine for a wonderful stay! Price was better than other B&B's!

I did not have Savannah on the itinerary until I stopped at The Inn at 909 Lincoln. I stayed two nights there and loved it. What I great renovation of the old Victorian home on Lincoln. The new friend I gained in knowing Elaine is priceless. She wants the guests to bring the recipes home with them, even if they don't cook much, like me. "It's easy" she'll say. Gotta love Cricket and Frog, her very friendly doggies. You won't regret a stay at this Inn. Bring an appetite for a great breakfast.
