Our stay with James and Valerie was one of our best (of many) B & B experiences yet. Uppermost in my memory of the stay is the degree to which James and Valerie were always on hand with information to help plan varied daytrips in the area and their exceptional hospitality at the end of a day’s activities. An enduring memory is that of sitting on their gloriously peaceful patio at night, listening to the owls hooting (or the hedgehogs grunting!), enjoying Valerie’s freshly cooked, flavoursome dinners and/or a glass (or two!) of wine in Val and James’s relaxed and jovial company. An all-round great place to stay if you are looking for ultra-relaxed evenings and a variety of day-time activities – in what seems to be a much underrated area of the French countryside. Some of the activities which we enjoyed during our stay included a visit to the Argentomagus archaeological site, cycling in the Brenne wetlands, woodland and river walks and exploring the architectural and artistic attractions of the beautiful villages of Gargilesse-Dampierre and Argenton-sur-Creuse. A stay which offered lots of variety and relaxation with a couple who put exceptional energy into ensuring that you have an enjoyable stay!
