    Centrally situated just 10 minutes walk from York City Centre and race course. Dave & Gill warmly welcome you to Alexander House our lovingly restored Victorian Town House. Recently renovated to a high standard giving 4 delightful en-suite bedrooms. Our aim is to make your stay in York with us the most memorable and enjoyable. Many of the original features have been retained giving a beautiful traditionally furnished lounge which is both elegant and comfortable. Fresh flowers paintings and personal touches in abundance make it the perfect place after a day sightseeing or shopping to relax unwind and instantly feel at home. Free parking is available at the rear of the house or up a quiet side street 100 yards down the road. Alexander House is non-smoking throughout. Enjoy our delicious breakfasts served in our cosy dining room where quality of ingredients and freshness of produce is a must. Our newly refurbished attractive bedrooms are thoughtfully equipped with every modern personal comfort. Warm and cosy thermostatically controlled central heating supremely comfortable king-size beds (for that perfect nights sleep) luxury toiletries flat screen T.V's with freeview radio/clock alarms hairdryer tray with tea/coffee/hot chocolate/mineral water and biscuits shoe cleaning kit selection of magazines and fresh flowers. All bedrooms have refreshingly new en-suite facilities with sparkling porcelain shining chrome fitments steaming hot water fluffy white bath sheets and lovely toiletries.

      York Train Station|Train|1|On leaving the Railway Station turn right and walk up Station Rise towards the traffic lights. Cross over the road into Nunnery Lane (Punchbowl Pub on the corner). Follow the road down to the fork in the road take the right hand fork at the end of the road (Cycle Heaven) opposite turn right carry on walking past Sainsburys cross over the road carry on walking straight on for a further 100 yds and you will have arrived at Alexander House.;A19|Road|5|At the 1237 (York by pass) turn right. Continue on the bypass and at the second roundabout turn left on the A59 towards York City Centre. After approx 2 miles you will reach an iron bridge where after crossing it you will turn immediately right into Dalton Terrace. At the end of the road turn left into the Mount then immediately right into Scarcroft Road (opposite Quick Fit Garage). At the end of the road turn right into Bishopthorpe Road. Alexander House is approx 100 yds on the left.;A1 from the North|Road|10|Leave A1 at junction with A59 and follow the signs for York at the A1237 (York bypass) continue on A59 towards York City Centre. After approx 2 miles you will reach an iron bridge where after crossing it you will turn immediately right into Dalton Terrace. Alexander House is approx 100 yds on the left.;A1 from the South|Road|10|Leave A1 at junction with A64 take the second York exit from A64 marked York West A1036. Head towards York City centre (approx 2 miles) turn right opposite Quick Fit Garage into Scarcroft Road. At the end of the road turn right into Bishopthorpe Road. Alexander House is approx 100 yards on the left overlooking Southlands Church.;
