Welcomed warmly with a pot of tea, homemade shortbread and tourist information. Breakfast was a delight with fresh and home made products. Bill is ever so nice and helpfull, even dropped me off at the busstop at the day of departure! Well recomended!

I've recently had a return weekend visit to Moss Cottage. It was as outstanding as ever- a warm, friendly welcome from Bill, with a cup of tea and cake very much appreciated after the journey, and the excellent breakfasts which I remembered from last time. Bill uses good quality, locally sourced produce and so the bacon, sausage and eggs are of a really high standard. Make sure you give yourself time to enjoy Moss Cottage preserves often made from local fruit with delicious toast.Plenty of up to date information about what is going on in and around Stratford is helpfully displayed. Having a front door key to enable you to come and go during the day is really helpful. There is a regular bus service to town- although not on Sundays and Public Holidays- but it is only 15 minutes to walk into the centre of Stratford. If you like racing and go when Stratford races are on, it's about 10 minutes to walk to the racecourse. Last time I was pleased with the bedroom and en suite bathroom. This time, I was even more delighted. There was a new and extremely comfortable mattress and a new TV, well-positioned in the bedroom. The bathroom is spotless and Bill keeps the tea, coffee and biscuits generously topped up throughout the visit. Another really excellent experience.

I cannot thank you enough for returning to Moss Cottage, It really is like greeting old friends when guests return. You said when you left you would review me again but I didn't expect another such all encompassing piece, thank you so much.

SECOND VISIT

This was 2nd visit to Moss Cottage,this time as a birthday treat,which was also Easter weekend. Bill was as welcoming as always and his banana homemade cake,was to die for. My room had a new tv in,from last time and i was in my element. :o) Being abit of a fussy eater,nothing was too much trouble for Bill to prepare,long live his breakfast triffle. :o)

Spring Break in Stratford (all the way from Ohio, USA)

My mother, my aunt and I came to Stratford, the birthplace of Shakespeare, to get away from the city. We had an incredible time here, the town was absolutely charming. We stayed in the Moss Cottage Bed and Breakfast. My aunt got a tip from her friend. The place was incredibly clean. The best thing about Moss Cottage was the innkeeper Bill! He was very helpful and went out of his way to make us feel welcome not only in the cottage but also in the town. I would definitely reccomend staying here if you want a relaxing get away and a wonderful breakfast!

my wife and i stopped here on sat march 06, Bill the owner could not have been more accomadating, breakfast was made with a special touch(try Bills breakfast triffle). the rooms are very clean and nice if the double bed was a little uncumphy. At £50 for the night for both of us complete with breakfast, i call that remarkable value for money, Bill even de frosted our car for us, we will be back.

I am truely flattered by the comments my guests have given, I have met such charming people since taking over Moss Cottage.. I fully agree with the comment on this bed after readig this review and so it was quickly replaced with a much firmer mattress.

We had a lovely weekend break. The rooms are very comfortable; however, the service and attention is what makes this place special. The breakfast with locally sourced produce was wonderful.

Home From Home.......

I had a lovely mini break,exploring the sights of Stratford-Upon-Avon. There was a welcoming cup of tea and some homemade cake,after a long and tiring journey. Host made us feel very welcome,our room was clean,warm and very comfortable. Took away with me,the recipe for the breakfast trifle,which was the busniess.

Excellent weekend in Stratford upon Avon

First impressions are excellent with a warm and friendly welcome, and with lots of information readily available about what is going on in the area. The rooms are light, airy and spacious. You have comfortable beds, very pleasant en suite facilities, a TV, tea and coffee regularly topped up- and nice biscuits. Interesting reading material is provided- I had an interesting early Peter Ackroyd novel amongst a range of choices. Breakfast is outstanding. Choose what you want from an extensive menu the night before and indicate when you will be eating (between 8.00 a.m. and 9.00 a.m.). You will come down to the sound and smells of your breakfast being prepared- lovely local bacon, sausages and eggs and marvellous home made bread for the toast! Prior to your choice of the cooked breakfast, don't forget Bill's homemade 'breakfast trifle'. It is fantastic. Moss Cottage is a 15/20 minute walk from Ann Hathaway's Cottage, Stratford Race Course and rather less than that to the Town Centre. Bill will tell you the short cut- also about 15 minutes- if you want to aim first for Holy Trinity Church and the river. The 28 bus runs from just outside Moss Cottage and there is a service every half hour from Mondays to Saturdays (no service on Sundays). Immaculately kept, genuinely friendly and welcoming, comfortable and with an excellent breakfast, Moss Cottage is a lovely place to stay and extremely convenient for the centre of Stratford as well as the immediate surroundings.

Wow! What can I say, when you write a review you certainly cover everything. I am so pleased that you enjoyed your stay and that you took in so much of the local information and sights! I obviously want all my guests to enjoy their stay, but I also want them to make the most of all that Stratford-upon-Avon has to offer.
