    The comfortable Castle Hotel provides an excellent base for exploring the countryside of Kent or a stopover for those travelling to and from the continent. You will find picturesque walks taking the village green timbered village hall and Norman church. We have our own castle in the village famous for harbouring the knights who murdered Thomas a Beckett in Canterbury! The hotel is within a mile of rail networks with the motorway and ports of Folkestone and Dover a short drive away. The Channel Tunnel is only 5 minutes away ideal for a long lie in before venturing on your journey. We are the closest hotel to the Channel Tunnel entrance allowing more time in bed before your crossing. We are ideally placed for trips to historical sites Canterbury Cathedral Dover Castle Walmer Castle Leeds Castle are all within an easy 20 minutes to half hour drive away through beautiful Kent countryside. For the children 'Aspinal's' Port Lympe and Howletts animal parks are close by see their famous gorilla breeding program. The old town of Hythe is within walking distance with the lovely clean beaches a mere 5 minute drive away. Hythe boasts its own miniature light railway taking you all the way to Dungeness stopping at new Romney and Dymchurch. perfect for a family day out.
