The Town's Inn

Only for folks who love historic buildings! Lush bathrobes make the trip down the hall to your private bath a cake walk.

We stayed in the Town's Inn for 4 nights in the first week in July. The buildings looked wonderful and the room was better than we expected. The weather was very hot and the window unit did a great job. A bit difficult to sleep considering the thin walls and the nearby train station, but it was a wonderful spot for visiting the town of Harper's Ferry. Karan is such a nice woman and we felt very welcome. We only ate breakfast at the Inn's restaurant which was great the first day but not entirely great the second day. It's a nice little spot with spectacular views!

This was the second time we stayed at Town's Inn. The staff and innkeeper are tremendous and made us feel like this was our home for the night. They offer great rooms, great food, and great service at an affordable price. We will be back! Also don't forget to check out the variety of hiker/biker food and supplies - from healthy snacks to power bars and all purpose soaps and other handy items you may need on the trail. Stop in at the second floor office and check it out.

My two adult daughters and I stayed in the Friendship Room for two nights. The room was very comfortable, and we enjoyed our stay very much. Loved the location right in town, within easy walking of restaurants and Harpers Ferry attractions. We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful old building nicely restored for guest comfort. Heart of historic Harpers Ferry. Minutes to everything- meals museums, gorgeous scenery. Innkeeper is a true professional.

This was our second time in Harpers Ferry and our first time in an inn. Staying in the heart of history in an inn like this made all the difference in our experiencing Harpers Ferry to the fullest; something staying in a nearby motel just can't capture. The people were friendly, the food was good (but a little pricey), and Karen was a wonderful host. the only negative was the train whistles in the middle of the night. But we took care of that with earplugs the next night!

Some noice from AC/trains and restaurant below. Expected coffee machine in room. Only 1 pillow each provided, needed more. The room was a nice size, but hard to get around bed without bumping leg. Also, there was a step going to bathroom they need to tell you about. Nice area, nice location for a B&B.

No better match of value, history, location, convenience for the hiker or biker looking ot get cleaned up for one night.

Stayed in Appalachian Room. Well-appointed room with private bath. Beautiful bathtub and bathroom. Room comes with minifridge and microwave, but no TV. In heart of old town. Best location.

well below average for a B&B. The Inn is old and that's okay but the rooms left much to be desired. I stayed two nights in two different rooms so I experienced twice what most people would. No clocks in the rooms, mattresses and bedding including pillows and towels were well used...need to be replaced. No personal shampoos, etc. - rather large bottles. Fine but there was no conditioner. No cream for the instant coffee...powdered or otherwise. But...the staff was great!!!

This was our first time staying at a B&B and what a wonderful experience it was. The staff was very friendly and helpful! It was exceptionally clean and wonderfully decorated, very pleasing to the eye. Anyone traveling to Harper's Ferry should stay at The Town's Inn. The next time we travel back there, we will definitely make our stay there again.

My daughter and I had a fantastic time here. It was a perfect stop on our yearly bike trip. Room was great and staff was exceptional!

This place is a great value for your money. The downside is that there is a cafe downstairs with a restroom on the 2nd floor so it is very loud.

Great location with nice views from our third floor room and the parlor of the Potomac, train station and High Street! Steps away from shops, restaurants and National Historic Park. Room was cozy and inviting. However, bunk beds with standard mattresses were uncomfortable. Fairly clean but attention to some details like light fixtures, fans and such were overlooked and not kept clean. Food was not included but the restaurant downstairs was very good. Would stay again!

hostel - not bed and breakfast. for the same price as a proper hotel, you got Ikea bunkbeds, top so close to ceiling you couldnt move, bathroom shared with whole building not even on same floor, tiny, cramped room with ants, no tv, no phone, no curtains, no food. rustic and antiques equals old, broken, stained furniture except for the new bunkbed. lovely view and location. friendly staff

I have visited Harper's Ferry several times and always wanted to spend a night there. Town's Inn is a great location for walking the town, and provided a clean and quiet place to stay. Recommended!

Words cannot begin to express the experience felt in such a wonderful place-perhaps-just perhaps: "A Home away from Home"

The Inn was excellent and Karan was very accomodating even as we arrived at 2:00 am and could not find the parking area as we were not familiar with Harper's Ferry. She was available and came to the rescue. The only negative I would have is that some breakfast food was not included in the deal. However, Karan recommended a great place just up the road.

We stayed in the Riverview East room. It has a bunkbed and although on the small side, it is a very charming room with a great view. Karyn was very friendly and took the time to answer all of our questions and offered tips on where to park and dine. We would definitely stay here again.

My husband had been traveling a lot and I wanted to get away as a family to some place quaint and quiet, the Town Inn was the perfect place! The only complaint is that there was only microwave meals to buy!

Karan was extremely informative and helpful. I really enjoy historic buildings; the Inn did not let me down....just beautiful. We plan on returning sometime in the summer months.

My husband and I and our three children greatly enjoyed our recent stay at the Town's Inn. The hotel is historic, cozy and loaded with charm. The location was perfect, right in the heart of the shopping area. Our room comfortably accommodated all five of us, which is very unusual for a bed and breakfast (most of which seem to cater to couples). We also had access to a community parlor outside the room, which gave it the feeling of a suite. I loved the natural slate in the private bath. There were many extra touches, such as an in-room fridge with water and bathrobes. We paid an extra $10 for parking, which was located a block below the inn. This was well-worth it, because the town was packed and parking was at a premium. Harper's Ferry is a fascinating small town that combines spectacular natural beauty, civil war history, landmarks related to the abolitionist movement, and much more. Be aware that the entire town is perched on a steep hillside and much climbing of stairs/hillsides is required to fully appreciate the sights. This applies to the Town's Inn as well. If you have limited mobility you'll have a hard time getting around in Harper's Ferry. The inn has a restaurant downstairs (no meals are included with the room). It's a charming cafe with lovely patios, although we didn't try the food. Since they don't serve breakfast until after April 1, we headed up High Street toward the town of Bolivar and had a great country breakfast at a small cafe. I would not recommend the Secret Six Tavern across the street from the inn...the food was overpriced and mediocre. Service was slow. We liked the Southern Smoke barbeque place down near the train station.

A welcoming and thorough reprieve from travel or hiking. The inn offers pleasant and contemplative views of the inner town and surrounding cliff-sides. Karen and Bill are sincerely and extremely cordial and have created a place that encourages all.

The inn is located in quaint historic Harpers Ferry, WV at the conference of the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers. Scenery is gorgeous. Lots of historic sites, a national park, and shops in town and in walking distance. The room was cozy and very clean!

We stayed in the River View West, which was a sweet little room. The beds were fine, the view out the window was nice, and the room included a mini fridge, which was convenient as the restaurant next door gives generous portions. The bathrooms were lovely. All in a great stay for little cost.

clean and serene environment. One step up from camping. It provided the full weekend getaway experience for outdoor lovers.

The placement in the historic district was a dream. Within walking distance of shops, even for someone with bad knees.

The location could not be beat! The inn was up the hill from the train station, so it was easy to take the train from DC and just walk around. The room was cozy and quaint--exactly what you expect for an 1840's inn. There was no TV or clock in the room, but I liked that a lot. The room was comfortable enough. The pillows were similar to the kind you get on an airplane, but the bed was cushy enough. This is an old building and an active restaurant, so you can hear everything in other rooms. Luckily, people went to bed pretty early, so there was no late night noise other than the sounds of passing trains (I kind of liked that, but maybe you wouldn't). The cleanliness was the major shortcoming. A lot of little details were overlooked. There was no fresh soap in the bathroom, and an empty toilet tissue roll was left on the dispenser. The coffee pot still had old grounds from the last tenant. The refrigerator door did not close all the way, and water leaked out from the melting ice onto the floors. These were minor inconveniences, but also something I expect to be taken care of when paying $152 per night. The bathroom window did not have a proper shade, which was sorely needed considering the close proximity of neighboring buildings, but we were able to drape a robe over the window for our stay. The room was certainly warm, which was appreciated on the cold autumn evenings. Karan was also kind enough to put together a basket of wine and cheeses for our arrival, which cost a little extra but was pretty classy. Note that the room does not come with breakfast, but there is a little restaurant downstairs that serves up standard eats. Their food is mediocre, but you should not visit Harpers Ferry if you are interested in good food. Overall, it is a bit overpriced, and there is room for improvement; however, the location was ideal and the ambiance of the inn was very relaxing. I would probably go back there without any qualms if there were no vacancies in other B&Bs.

We were riding bikes from Pittsburgh to Washington DC and this was our final evening stay along the trails! Wonderful value! We only wish we could have spent more time in Harper's Ferry!

The Town's Inn is a wonderful place, located in the heart of historic Harper's Ferry W.V. The rooms and bath were excellent and very clean and the pre-civil war house was a joy to stay in.

We stayed in the Appalachian room with it's own private bathroom. This was a great place to stay with the restaurant below for a yummy breakfast on the front patio and dinner at the Secret Six across the street. Be prepared for a bit of a walk from the parking areas. Everything was super clean. Shopping is right out the front door. Karen and Bill were very accomodating and friendly. Thank you so much. The Town's Inn is a great bargain! Right in the heart of Harper's Ferry and a short walk to everything. The cozy and rustic rooms offer a great view of the town's winding streets and river. Would highly recommend!
