We stayed at 1833 last weekend and it was perfect! Our room was the oak room which was cozy albeit funky and eclectic . The house has many historic features and feels like stepping back in time. The breakfasts on the deck and in the dining room are great, especially on "pancake Sundays". The inn is just down the road from Mystic and about 25-30 minutes to the area casinos. There's also a very nice pool and lush gardens. We really enjoyed our stay!

We stayed there for our anniversary. The inn keepers were the two of the nicest people ever. They were very personable and went out of their way to be accomodating but not intrusive. When we made the reservation we were asked of any dietary restrictions. I told Evan I was allergic to strawberries. Upon entering our room there was a banner, cake, flowers and balloons. All very beautiful. Unfortunately I was not able to eat the cake because it was strawberry. We did bring it home with us and shared it with friends.

My wife and I have been here three times(cannot wait to return). The day I proposed we stayed the night here. Even before meeting Evan, I was at ease. Just talking to him on the phone about the Inn and it's Amenities and History I knew I just had to book. Upon arrival that first time Evan was waiting for us and congratulated us on the engagement. We met the other owner Robert and got a tour and history lesson of the home and it's many antiques. Robert is actually a descendant of the original owner! Then we were shown to our room- the Veranda Room. It had a huge bed, big bathroom, sitting area, fireplace, tv, a huge jacuzzi and a nice little porch overlooking the gardens and pool. They had a banner waiting for us and great Sherry to sip. Anything we requested we got- it is private and quiet(even with a full house.) It was great to walk the grounds and swim. It is so close to everything in that area. The second and third visit you feel like family. We love chatting and catching up with Robert and Evan and petting their dog. The breakfasts are simply amazing. So good and so plentiful. The price is worth it. I would recommend this place to anyone.

After a long trip getting to Mystic, our first B&B choice was not of our liking or taste. We visited the 1833 House and were immediately put at ease by the very kind co-owner (Evan). He gave us a tour and explained some of the history of this great Mansion, then invited us back the next morning for a free breakfast, with no pressure of switching B&B's. We were so impressed by his warm nature, we booked the Ivy room starting that night (and the next three) all while still paying for the first night at the less desirable inn. The breakfasts were worthy of being served in any five star restaurant!!! Amazing meals! Please ask about the history of the parlor....you won't be disappointed. The story made the hair on my neck stand up (not in a haunting kinda way either). A great stay in the perfect location. Close enough to all the wonderful area attractions, yet you'll feel like your in the counrty while sitting quietly by the pool and huge gardens.

My boyfriend and I were looking for a getaway and picked the House of 1833. Wow did we pick the perfect place for a romantic evening! Robert and Evan were absolutely wonderful. They showed us around the house and gave us some of the history of the rooms, the house, and some of the antiques. Because we stayed in the winter, it was very quiet which was nice. When we got there we upgraded to the Veranda room with the jacuzzi and fireplace. It was breathtaking! The next morning, breakfast was even better than we could have imagined. It was a Sunday and we had pancakes. They were by far the best pancakes we had ever eaten. I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone and I can not wait to go back!!!!!!!

We honeymooned here for five nights, and it was absolutely incredible. The rooms and furnishings are breathtaking, and we were served the best breakfast we have ever had. Evan and Robert are the kindest and most accommodating B&B owners we have ever had the pleasure of staying with. I can not praise this treasure enough. We will definitely return.

We arrived late in the evening on Friday, October 9th and Evan and Robert were waiting for us with big smiles as they opened their door and welcomed us into their home. The rustic ambience of the house was amazing as Evan showed us around. Evan pointed out details of the house and told us stories of who stayed there before us. Evan welcomed us into their kitchen and provided unsurpassed information on all the local amenities. After showing us our stupendous Cupola Room, we settled in for the evening. Evan and Robert remembered that it was our anniversary and had hung a Happy Anniversary banner and had a cake waiting for us in our room also. It was an amazing place and we had a wonderful stay. The property was extremely beautiful during the early fall season and the garden was lovely.

It was our 5 year anniversary and we decided to go to the House of 1833. We were so glad that we picked this place. It was just so fabulous. When we arrived, we were greeted by Evan. He was so friendly and hospitable. He gave us the tour of the innn and showed us to our room. We stayed in the peach room. He opened the door and there was a sign that said Happy Anniversary and a my favorite cake (carrot cake) with Happy Anniversary written on it. It was such a personal touch. The room was unbelievable. There were so many unbelievable antiques in the room and around the inn. They all had their own story. the jacuzzi in the room was fabulous. We were told that we could help ourselves to soda in the small refrigerator and delicious cookies in the living room. These are the little things that made our stay so wonderful. The next morning we had this wonderful mediterannean/greek fusion type breakfast. It was so scrumptious. Robert is such a fabulous cook. Overall it was such a relaxing, romantic stay. We were treated like we were the only ones in the inn. We are definitely gonna come back.

My husband and I went here on our 1 year anniversary, we had a great time. The rooms were so cozy, they had both new and old things in them. We got the Cupola sweet, it was AMAZING. The bed was completly surrounded in curtins, the jacuzzi tub was very relaxing. I would recommend this place to everyone I meet. The next morning we came down for breakfast and it was perfect. We could not ask for anything more, plus they added some little touches in our room as a surprise. They went above and beyond. If y ou are ever in Mystic, please look them up. As for me and my husband, we will be back. Thank you again for everything!

Our first impression as we we parked our car was oh my the grounds were messy. Inside the Inn was cluttered with to many antiques it took away some of the charm of the Inn. Our host Evan was very nice down to earth made us feel comfortable. We ordered the romance package. It was nicely done. When we entered our room after dinner the lights were down low music was playing, candles were lit, champagne was on ice. There were string lights drape along our bed. and chocolate truffles were nicely placed in a serving glass. It was worth the price. All the rooms are very nice we stayed in the cupola room. The breakfast was prepared by Robert it was very good. Overall we had a pleasant time.

My husband & I spent the weekend to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, what a wondeful place to celebrate it. The food was excellent, the hospitality was great, made to feel right at home from the minute we arrived. The antiques throughtout the house were amazing. We would definitely suggest it for a comfortable, relaxed weekend getaway. Thanks guys!

Wow!!! What a place. The innkeepers made us feel like family. And the breakfasts.....awesome! We stayed in a small apartment away from the inn, but right in Mystic....it was so convenient to everything. Our accommodations were outstanding. The kitchen was perfect and it slept 4 people more than comfortably.
