    Son envergure, récemment recommandé dans "The Unofficial Guide de Bed & hôtes en Nouvelle-Angleterre" (MacMillan), se situe sur un hilltop isolé qui offre une vue lointaine de Long Island Sound sur jours clairs. Les motifs de parc-like sont extrêmement privés et aucune route n'est visible à partir du haut de notre lecteur. Il y a des jardins vivaces, un jardin d'herbes, un pont spacieux avec de grandes vues et une terrasse. Bois denses se situent au-delà de nous et nous apportent des visiteurs réguliers comme les cerfs et les dindes sauvages. La terre est joie d'un birder et wildflowers sont exceptionnelles. Pistes de ski de randonnée/parallélisme-pays sont loin des étapes. Son envergure a été construit en 1968 par une équipe de trois-génération de la famille Bullard. L'extérieur est faite de journaux de cèdre et construit autour d'une porte le Bullards partit sur de Londres--une antique porte quatre pieds de largeur avec tête knocker d'un lion laiton. L'intérieur est spacieux et scandinaves dans la convivialité. Chambres centrales sont deux histoires élevés avec les puits de lumière et des plafonds de la cathédrale. Toutes les chambres de la maison ont deux expositions. Les visiteurs sont les bienvenus à utiliser

    Home away from home. But better!

    I found this gem while looking for a place to stay in my old hometown to visit family. My son and I stayed in the room with two twin beds, and were pleasantly surprised to find out that half of the house was ours--Pam said she only rents out one room at a time, so no one has to worry about shared bathrooms. We had room to stretch out and enjoy coffee in the living room while working on our laptops. Pam and Larry made sure coffee was ready for me upon my early awakening. I so enjoyed taking the coffee out to deck and enjoy a cool morning sunrise from the east, with the views of Long Island in the distance to the south. The absolute forest silence giving way to birds tweeting was something you simply won't find in a hotel! The breakfasts were simple and delicious, and the conversation with Pam and Larry was a nice bonus. Two very interesting people with stories to tell. We will absolutely be back.

    A lovely, quiet, comfortable place to stay. Pam and Larry are warm, welcoming hosts. We felt so well-cared-for were sorry to leave and my husband and I look forward to returning to Sound Reach when we are back again in the area.

    Quiet & Relaxing

    Sound Reach is a very pleasant surprise, so relaxing and quiet high on the hill overlooking the canopy of trees with a view all the way to Long Island Sound but close enough to all attractions and highways. We enjoyed the lovely woods and trails and gardens and the rooms were beautiful. And the breakfasts were worth the price alone! Will definitely be going back.

    Just when I didn’t think I could find an affordable B&B, I was delighted to discover Sound Reach while on a trip to visit family & friends this spring. It is close to the best of the shoreline, but off the beaten path enough for enjoying some quiet time. Pam and Larry were lovely hosts, breakfasts were the fresh, healthy fare I crave, and the room was comfortably furnished with a light, airy touch. And nothing can beat waking up to the sound of the birds in their lush, green setting in the Connecticut woods. I’ve already recommended it to friends and am looking forward to my next visit this fall!

    Sound Reach--dreamy comfort

    This bnb remains one of my husband's and my favorite places to stay. We always ask for the room with twin beds so we can "pretend" we see the Sound from there--actually I think you can almost do so. Just our kind of place, woodsy, comfy chairs, excellent library, beautiful garden, friendly dog (hosts also a lot of fun), scrumptious breakfasts. During a cross-country move we ended up staying there a week one time, and we were always made to feel as if we were home already.

    Peaceful place to stay

    This is a wonderfully peaceful spot, very quiet. It is just a sublime pocket of hospitality in the woods. Conservation land is the backyard of the b&b and a pretty walking path is right out the back door.

    Gracious Hospitality

    The setting and the house are just as described, the view from the deck enchanting. Pam & Larry are such gracious hosts. We enjoyed roaming the woods behind their house. We really liked being close enough to sites and attractions, while coming 'home' to the remote, relaxing setting in the countryside. The room was very comfortable, the breakfasts excellent. We hope to make a return visit.

      Prendre I-91 du Sud de la route 9 s pour quitter 13 qui vous conduira à la route 17 (vers New Haven). Prendre la route 17 à 77 route jusqu'à ce que vous voyez un signe qui dit Guilford. Une fois que vous traversez la ligne Guilford, continuer sur la route 77 pour 5,5 km et tournez à droite sur la route de comté (regarder attentivement pour le sortir après que vous avez vu un signe pour l'Église épiscopale). Allez.6 milles jusqu'à ce que vous venez d'un panneau d'arrêt 4-way. Aller tout droit pour mille.1 et puis tournez à droite sur la route de Hill de Noël. Nôtre est l'allée juste à gauche de la boîte aux lettres qui dit 50. Aller vers le haut.
