Bed & Breakfast on Mitchell Creek

We had a wonderful stay on Feb.17 & 18th here at Mitchell Creek. Stan was a fantastic host and served us two great breakfast meals. The room was warm and cozy and had everything we could want and more. If you are thinking of stay at a B&B around Glenwood Springs you need to stay here!! This was our first experience staying at a B&B and we loved it! Mr. Rachesky added to the charm of this place with his hospitality and welcoming personality. He was very knowledgeable about hiking trails, restaurants and nearby attractions. The room was nicely decorated and the bed was so comfortable it made it hard to want to get up each morning with the big fluffy pillows and soft bedding and the view was beautiful. The breakfasts each morning were delicious and tied us over well into the afternoon on the hiking trails. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful weekend at Bed & Breakfast on Mitchell Creek. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. We enjoyed our evenings by the firepit listening to the creek rushing by. Stan was very friendly and an excellent host. His breakfasts were delicious! I will be recommending this B&B to all of my friends and family who are looking to stay in Glenwood Springs.

Amazing setting a couple miles out of town. Quiet with well maintained gardens, trails, private, creekside firepits & abundant wildlife. Comfortable creek-side rooms. Stan is a very personable host who makes a delectable, plentiful breakfast. For what we'd have paid for a three star hotel plus breakfast, we stayed here for an experience we won't forget. We'll be back. Highly recommended.

This is the second time I have stayed at the Bed and Breakfast on Mitchell Creek. The first time was about four years ago and I am pleased to say the rooms, hospitality, food, and surroundings are every bit as good as I had remembered them. Stan and Carol are great hosts, with a lot of information about the area and things to do while visiting. I agree with a previous reviewer who said they wanted Carol to come decorate, but I would add to that, I want Stan to come help me design wonderful outdoor areas like those that surround the house. There are two separate patio areas next to the creek, one for each room. There is an entrance right next to the two guest rooms that makes it very easy to go in and out without having to walk through the house. All in all, a wonderful place that I would highly recommend to anyone.

Up a private path, you find yourself immersed in nature with very hospitable hosts. Creekside fire pits accommodate star-lit relaxing or hummingbird watching. Do not miss Carol's breakfasts or Stan's stories!

Beautiful location, amazing food, equally amazing innkeepers, Carole & Stan, comfortable, clean rooms with great beds!

Great place to stay! My only complaint is that the coffee isn't available until 8:00 AM. the food was plentiful and delicious. The grounds were beautifully kept and so peaceful. I loved the sound of the creek in the background, and all the birds and flowers.

The top B&B on my list: exquisite interior, beautifully manicured exterior combined with stunning natural environment, and the finest in dining and service.

One of the most beautiful properties I've ever seen. Wonderful amenities, very quiet and simply loved the nature, animals, and landscape. Stan and Carol were super friendly and breakfast was marvelous. Would definitely go again!

The pictures do not do this B&B justice! The rooms in the pictures look like average rooms. They are extremely clean and comfortable and very roomy. Privacy is awesome! The atmosphere can't be matched if you love the outdoors and mountains. Breakfast was gourmet. Stan and Carole are not only great inkeepers but great people in general. We stayed for 2 nights and are very much looking forward to going back. I can't imagine that anyone would not enjoy their time here! It is 5 star in my book!

This B&B was so nice if you love flowers ,birds,mtn. air etc.this is the place to go! My husband & I went for our anniversary we loved it & will go back! Hospitality & delicious big breakfasts are just a few of the things we loved! Highly recomend this B&B!

What a delightful experience! The B&B is in a secluded location and offers a panoramic view of the canyon. The hospitality is terrific and the hosts offer helpful suggestions about the area activities and dining. The accommodations and breakfast are first rate!

In the woods, along the creek, off the main road with hummingbirds, private patios, and excellent food. Rooms impeccable, peaceful, and romantic (if lucky to go with a partner).

Aside from the beautiful location, the wonderful food and the beautiful rooms (I wish Carole & Stan would come and decorate my house), our hosts were helpful and gracious above and beyond; as we had had an accident on the way to Glenwood Springs and needed help with a variety of things like car rentals, transportation to the body shop, (all those things you don't expect to deal with on your vacation!) Anyway, they stepped up to the plate and were more than willing to help. They also were very knowledgeable about the area as far a restaurants, attractions, etc. A great place! Good bird viewing too!

Carole and Stan (the Innkeepers) were very kind and gave us lots of great ideas about things to do as well as good places to eat at.

We have stayed all around Glenwood Springs, including The Colorado Hotel, Hot Springs Lodge, Denver Hotel, AmericInn, and others. This was by far our favorite place. It was spotlessly clean and the food was very good. We are looking forward to returning for our annual summer trip and are planning to stay at Mitchell Creek. When we left, I felt like we'd known Stan and Carole for years! They are incredibly friendly and outgoing!

This clean, comfortable B&B was amazing. Stan & Carole provide a superb service in an enchanting location. The breakfast was plentiful and grand. Secluded. BEAUTIFUL room. Loved listening to the stream at night. Wish we could've stayed longer (only 2 nights) to enjoy the fire at night and more hiking. Gracious, fun, knowledgeable hosts. Yummy, generous breakfasts. Accomodated for special diet. The best B&B we've experienced; and we're regulary B&B lodgers.

We enjoyed our two night stay at the B&B. The room was very clean. We liked being away from the city where it was quiet and had a wonderful mountain view. We made use of the discount coupons to a local restaurant and use of the athletic club entrance to the hot springs pool. We enjoyed the hospitality that Stan & Carole had to offer. We would highly recommend this B&B.

Excellent Choice

Stan and Carol are excellent hostesses. The breakfasts were to die for and the great atmosphere with the creek running beside it was very relaxing - Great for anyone wanting to get away from it all.

This B&B was just beautiful but the visit was ruined for us by all the rules! No shoes, stay off the deck, time to leave! We didn't feel very welcome there. The innkeeper (the wife) was pushing us out the door getting ready for the next guests. The food was fine but nothing special. I wouldn't recommend the place nor would I stay there again.

this b&b is in a beautiful setting in the Colorado mountains. the hosts are very friendly and make you feel very welcome. the private patios are a great place to read and relax. the breakfasts are generous and delicious!

Carole and Stan were delightful hosts with an outstanding attention to detail. The location near the creek was very romantic and everything was immaculately maintained, with flowers, birds, and other wildlife abounding. We'll be back.

This was, in my experience, the BEST B&B I've been to. Excellent rooms & location for privacy and superb tastefulness. The breakfasts were outstanding and the host and hostess were friendly, welcoming, and very helpful! Loved it! will go back next year!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found it a better value than any of the hotels/motels in the area. No noisy people, doors slamming,etc.,as you'd find at a hotel/motel. A nice, quiet home, gourmet breakfast and good company. Private bath, satellite tv, microwave, private patio area with fire pit, bbq grill. Just perfect.

This is a beautiful bed and breakfast "off the beaten path" (yet only 2 miles from I-70!). Gourmet breakfasts, stream side location, al fresco, surrounded by hummingbirds! What more could you want?
