    Very Relaxing

    We stayed over the memorial day weekend and were delighted with our choice. We stayed in the pine room which is on the ground level and has its own fridge and was very comfortable. You never go hungry, there are always biscuits, fruit and sweets set out (not just at 4pm like some places). In the large fridge downstairs are beer and wine for the guests. Every evening Walter makes a desert for his guests. The breakfast time is individually cooked and Walter caters for vegetarians. Unlike many B & B's you do not have to specify the night before what time you want breakfast. The property is about 12 miles N of Durango on the road to Silverton and was easy to get to. We ate in the local golf course restaurant on a night we did not want to drive into Durango Stayed May 2013, travelled with family

    Amazing food and location!

    This was our first B&B experience and I found the room to be pleasant and comfortable (like staying with my dear aunt and uncle) but the breakfasts blew my mind and exceeded my expectations. The evening desserts and afternoon cookies were also phenomenal and the hosts were engaging and fun to get to know without being overbearing. Everything they recommended (restaurants, activities, etc) was also excellent and I appreciated their advice and thoughtful suggestions. We will be back (or at least I hope so)!

    Birthday Celebration

    This was our second stay at Country Sunshine. Our first experience was so fantastic, we chose the B&B as a get together place to celebrate my sister's 50th birthday. It was a great experience. One of the best touches was the morning Anya delivered a birthday card to my sister during breakfast. It was perfect! Thank you Walter & Jodi for a great week-end!! Stacey Becker

    We enjoyed our one night stop over so much that we changed our travel plans so we could come back for one more nights stay. The rooms are comfortable, the food is excellent, but the people and the birds make this place beyond outstanding. Thank you Walter and crew!

    First Time in a Bed and Breakfast

    This was my first experience ever staying at a bed and breakfast. Walter and Jodi were very friendly taking time to show us around and make sure we were comfortable and felt at home. Walter does a fantastic job cooking and really went out of his way the one day we weren't going to be there for breakfast. Country Sunshine fills up quickly for a reason. This will not be the last time we stay there. Ben & Amity Sheridan

    The Best Place to Stay in Durango

    Walter and Jodi are amazing hosts! Walter is a World Class chef and not only are his breakfasts out of this World he makes dessert every evening as well. I'm not talking about serving up ice cream and cake....Home made rum cake, flourless chocolate cake, lemon tart.....There is also a well stocked fridge for guest use. Full of water, sodas, and even numerous selections from the local brewing company. The grounds are beautiful, well maintained and inviting. The rooms (at least ours) was very large and decorated beautifully. You will not find a better value, better food, or more hospitable place and people anywhere in Durango! Chris Jackson
