"We have been staying at this bed and breakfast just about every year since our honeymoon in 1992. Harrington is a charming and casually elegant B&B on a beautiful stretch of Holmes Beach. The pictures are for real- the buildings are actually on the beach. For this stay, we were in the Carriage House for the first time, instead of the main house. Our room was beautiful and cozy with a side balcony that provided a view of the beach. The Carriage House has a communal sitting room for the guests to enjoy, complete with a small kitchen, dining room table, and couches. We walked a few steps each morning to the main house for breakfast, and to swim in the pool. It is lovely to eat breakfast at one of the patio tables by the pool. Borrow a bike to explore the island, and paddle a kyak in the ocean to get an up close view of dolphins swimming by. Harrington has a variety of rooms to choose from, with a variety of price points. We found the carriage house to be very reasonably priced, given the location, amenities available, superior service, and nicely appointed rooms. We recommend Harrington House to anyone looking for a relaxing, tranquil stay on one of Florida's remaining unspoiled islands. It can be hard to choose a B&B, and you are never really sure if it will live up to its own hype. This one is the real deal. I can't imagine anyone ever leaves this place disappointed, except to wish that their vacation could last a bit longer."
