"This was the second visit we made with our dogs. The location is very near downtown Santa Barbara, with a very quiet and restful feeling. Breakfast was generous with warm homemade breads, and the dogs have plenty of places to sniff around in the garden. If you like staying in places that feel like you live in the neighborhood rather than an impersonal hotel, it is your kind of place. My husband was not crazy about the only one glass of wine per guest during the evening happy hour, and the pet policy is a bit terse--"pets off the furniture, housekeeping can tell if they've been on the furniture and you'll be charged a fee"--and you do get the feeling they are "pet tolerant" rather than pet friendly. But overlooking these issues, I'd stay there again as it is overall a very pleasant place."
