We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Lazy Bear Lodge and can't wait to go back for another night (or nights) of rest and relaxation. Anne was such a wonderful host and made us feel right at home; loved the 24 hour tea and cookie station. The breakfast was AMAZING; the best I've ever had at a bed and breakfast.
Conviently located in Valle Crucis near Boone, Blowing rock and Banner Elk and all the adventures in the area throughout the year. Anne is a wonderful hostess and surperb cook. The Inn itself is peaceful located high on a mountain with an outstanding view.
This is what you want a B&B to be like. Nice rooms, friendly and very helpful innkeepers, nice common area and grounds. Breakfast is always good (buffet style) and done in a single seating. Guests typically mingle in the common area with coffee before breakfast.
Our second stay at the Lovill House Inn was sadly only one night, but it was as wonderful as our first stay last year! Scott and Ann are the hosts with the most. Attention to detail is so apparent. Rooms are perfectly appointed and comfortable, breakfast is outstanding and the location within walking distance of downtown Boone can't be beat. I really hate to write such good review because I may not get reservations when I want them because I'm giving away a favorite place!!
Scott and Anne are great hosts, they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Every detail was nice from the wrap around porch, to the parking, to the beautiful grounds, newspapers and even warmed up coffee mugs in the morning. We highly recommend this B&B if exploring Blowing Rock and Boone.
My wife and I stayed at the Lazy Bear Lodge on our one year anniversary. It was exactly what we wanted a quiet relaxing B&B with friendly people and service. The inn was beautifully decorated and had amazing views on the near by mountains.
Exceptional hosts--Scott is a great source for side trips off the Parkway, and Anne is a breakfast chef extraordinaire--not the usual scrambled eggs and bacon, but delightful gourmet. Little amenities, like coffee cups warmed on a warmer each morning, and access to a fridge stocked with cold beverages, and papers each morning on the living room table.
My wife and I recently completed a three night stay at the Lovill House Inn. We stayed in the Spring House for the duration. It just so happens two other couples with whom we are dear friends from college decided to stay there with us at the same time, so we had a mini-Reunion. The Lovill House Inn is THE BEST bed & breakfast we’ve ever enjoyed. The location in the mountains of western North Carolina is idyllic year round for relaxation in an Inn of this type. June temperatures are very comfortable due to the elevation. No air conditioning needed. We slept very soundly. Local sights, attractions and dining is superb. Scott & Anne Peecook are the most accommodating Innkeepers imaginable. The breakfast every morning is a multi-course feast that exceeds the expectations of the B & BREAKFAST part of the arrangement better than any other Inn we’ve found. Gourmet quality! The grounds of the Lovill House, and the Inn itself are pristine, self-contained, and exceptionally comfortable, with all the amenities of the college town of Boone a short walk away. Boone and surroundings is the kind of locale that will make you wish you lived there. The Lovill House Inn, and Scott & Annie Peecook will treat you to the kind of stay that will get you to come back. Thanks so very much, Scott & Anne! - WTDOOR, NoVa
We had a wonderful stay at the Lovill House Inn. Located in the heart of the Boone area, close to local attractions as well as ASU and town of Boone. The rooms were comfortable and welcoming. The food was delicious and varied each day. The Inn and grounds are beautiful and relaxing. Most of all the hosts, Scott and Anne, make you feel welcome and at home. It was an outstanding experience. Well done.
We fell in love with the cottage we stayed in, and the owners, were absolutely outstanding. The brkfst was good, bed very comfortable, i have a hard time sleeping in other beds while on vacation, i slept perfectly at this beaitiful lil b&b, thanks so much for everything!
Scott and Anne made us feel like we were at home, they clearly enjoy what they do. The rooms and the entire house were very clean. The grounds were beautifully kept and made you want to be outside enjoying the scenery. Any questions we had were answered and their knowledge of the area helped us plan our daily activities. We spent two nights at the Lovill House Inn and enjoyed it a lot. The grounds are beautiful and the house is well situated for easy access to restaurants and shopping in Boone. Scott and Anne do a wonderful job of pampering their guests - would definitely recommend it!
The moment we drove into the driveway of Lovill House Inn we were wrapped in acres of gardens, trees, flowers, a small waterfall in the rear of the property, and most of all........an authentic welcome from Scott and Anne. Our king bedded room included a working. ready-to-burn, wood fireplace that filled our bedroom with the smells of the Mountains. Breakfast is a sumptuous buffet-style affair that is the way we like to start our day. Scott is a real renaissance man and Anne keeps everything running smoothly as well as can be spotted lovingly tending the gardens. Falling asleep in the afternoon on the hammock in the midst of the green property was a delight. A wrap-around porch with comfortable rocking chairs was a great spot to slow down and smell the flowers. The entire experience was superb!
Nobody controls the weather, but the Lovill House gave us a marvelous 30th anniversary. Excellent food and a delightful room in the cottage behind the main house. Would definitely stay there again.
We stayed there over the weekend. I cannot say enough good things about the facility, staff, and dining experience. Everything was over the top. We had the best time Friday evening just exploring the grounds, enjoying afternoon tea and getting to know each other all over again. Dinner Friday night was fabulous, breakfast both Saturday and Sunday absolutely made the trip. The gardens and views are magnificent. This was a perfect getaway.
Sister escape....second time around! Definitely need a longer stay next time! I've never felt more relaxed and at home. Anne is an amazing hostess! Comfort food, cozy rooms, warm home.......once you arrive, you don't want to leave. THANK YOU! We'll be back :)
We had a wonderful time last weekend at Lovill House Inn, Scott and Ann did a great job of making us feel welcome. Lovill House is rich with history. It is peaceful and the food is awesome! I would recommend this Inn for anyone who wants to experience the beauty and solitude of the mountains of NC. It is a beautiful time of year to visit with all the spring color. There are lots of great places to visit in Boone and Blowing Rock which is very closeby.....Jeanine
When you have a special memory tucked away it seems that reliving it is next to impossible. My husband and I decided to revisit the Mast Farm Inn for our tenth anniversary. We discovered this gem of a bed and breakfast on our honeymoon and when the time came to think about what to do for our tenth, there was no competition! The Mast Farm Inn is "practically perfect in every way" with attention given to even the smallest details! The food is beyond gourmet, the staff top notch, hospitable, and accomedating, the rooms are carefully decorated with vintage finds and lavish luxuries! The grounds are so lovely and one cannot help but relax on the porch swings, or take a quite walk by the stream laced by wildflowers. There are an abundance of activities to attract guests such as ziplining, fine dining, local crafts, vineyard tours, hiking, shopping and driving the blue ridge parkway (need I say more!) I would return to this bed and breakfast over any of the others I have visited over the years (there have been many) I cannot recommend it enough!!!
We were in town for a tournament with our high school-aged son, stayed in the Bristol room on the first floor, which had the most lovely wood fireplace and ambiance. The legislation that established Appalachian State University was written in that room! The grounds are beautifully maintained, breakfast was wonderful. An idyll!
