Buckskin Lodge

This is a very nice place for the price the rooms are great and the owners are very nice. The only complaint that I have is that the beds could be replaced. Other then that great place to stay while hunting.

Upon arriving the first evening a bull elk wondered into town and started to bugle right outside the door of the lodge. People very friendly and always willing to lend a hand if needed.

We were returning from a long drive for q family funeral in Wisconsin. This was our last stay after many others. Definitely one of the most lovely stops we've ever made. Rooms were well decorated and very clean. Service was outstanding and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Extremely obvious that the owners are very proud and extremely hard workers as well as outstanding decorators. We've been.telling everyone to give it a try. Frenchie and Lynn.

We reserved newly-remodeled adjoining rooms (6 & 7). All new flooring, paint, fixtures, furniture, etc. VERY clean with an outdoorsy theme, nice wooded courtyard with picnic tables and BBQ grills. Beds are very firm, which did not work with my bad back, but a cushioned topper would have been great. The place is located along the highway, but we had very quiet rooms. Limited breakfast (sack with your choice of yogurt, granola bar, juice) but good and healthy, nonetheless. Wifi was nonexistent in one room and sketchy in the other, but they are currently working to improve that (works well in the courtyard). The best parts of the stay were our interactions and conversations with the owners, who were extremely amiable and helpful, pointing out scenic drives, fun shopping and good eats nearby. Although there was a chain hotel just down the road at a slightly higher rate, we would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks, Tim and Cheryl!

drove up from Phoenix, spent the night there, was very clean and comfortable, I had told them that we would be up at a certain time and he was waiting for us, had snacks and juice avail be to take to the room. would stay there agin if in the area.

My husband and I really enjoyed the Buckskin. We look for local businesses to support and this one is definitely one for return visits. The only thing I recommend is that the mattresses be updated, they are worn out and need replaced. It was quiet and comfortable. thank you, keri marana, az

The personal service and kindness of the owners was wonderful. The property and cabins are very clean. You won't find a better value in the Heber/Overgaard area. We will definitely stay here again. Thanks!

This cute 'lodge' was incredibly clean, the innkeepers were very nice and we discovered our new favorite mexican restaurant right across the street. The whole experience was very family friendly and we would definitely return!!

date of stay: 10/2/11. We were enroute from Albuquerque to Phoenix, and the Buckskin was listed in an online lodging guide (not this one), but we hadn't prebooked. It was almost dusk, and we actually drove past... perhaps the sign lights weren't on yet. Got directions and came back, and the lights were on. We received a friendly greeting by a friend of the owners, who was looking after the place while they were on an overnight errand. The property is an independent "motel", and our room was large, very clean, plus recently and carefully renovated to a very good standard. The shower was wonderful and there was fridge, coffeemaker, and microwave. The bed was comfortable, and linens and towels new and fresh. The room felt a little bit plain, although "folksy". A wonderful Mexican style restaurant was diagonally across the highway. The only downsides were the highway noise from passing trucks and the "breakfast" was pretty minimal- packaged mini-donuts, granola bars, flavored yogurts, and a selection of juices. I'd be happy to stay again due to the friendliness and the beauty of the area with lakes, views, and trees.

We spent a couple of nights and the beds were comfortable, the decor was very homey. It was clean. The bathroom area was a little outdated but very clean. The owners very personable. The value was exceptional.

This is the only place i would ever stay in heber.Clean rooms very good prices.I so recommend staying here...

Very clean, family-friendly. Something out of the 1960s. Rooms have good ventilation (windows) but are not air-conditioned. "Breakfast/snack" is issued upon check-in, choice of juices, yogurt or pudding, granola or brownie/donuts. Coffee maker in room. Quiet, comfortable, economical.

This was a nice, clean, older motel with new bathroom fixtures and a nice area outside for grilling and lounging. There are no dining facilities. I was offered juice and yogurt at check-in to put in my mini-fridge. There was no breakfast like you would expect at a true bed and breakfast. The innkeepers were very friendly, check-in was fast. There was no hair dryer in the room.

It was a Great place, we were up there for my Sister's Wedding and we and other Family members stayed there, we Loved it.....

Everything was great, good price for a great room. Would stay there again!!

We were very pleased with the Inn. The owners were very nice. You would have to look hard to find a cleaner room. The bed was comfortable. Had booked one night and stayed two. Would highly recomend.

Wasn't sure what to expect, especially since the cost was so reasonable. I was very impressed with how clean the room was. There is absolutely no smoking in the rooms, so they didn't reek of cigarettes. I noticed that there were a couple of grills in the courtyard, next time we stay we'll bring dinner to bbq. I would definitely recommend the Buckskin Lodge to anyone.

Very nice owners. Nice & clean room. Beautiful weather. The only negative is the beds are way too hard. My husband & I woke up the next morning with backaches. Other than that, everything was great. Loved having a fridge & microwave in room. Thankyou & hoping to return again one day.

This was our first stay at buckskin lodge but not our last. The room was likely the cleanest I've ever stayed in and provided everything your average hotel/motel would. That combined with outstanding price makes it unbeatable. We can't wait for a return trip to beautiful Heber where we hope to stay at Buckskin Lodge again.

Very clean, Very comfy, owners make you feel at home, central location, Very nice for the price and we would definitely stay there again.

Went to Heber to scout out some hunting spots and found this Lodge extremley close to both forest service roads for easy access to the Forest. Tim and Cheryl were great to work with and knew the area and hunting spots making it quick and easy for us to access areas that we may have missed. The room was clean and well kept making it a very nice trip, loved sittting in the courtyard area for eating and socializing. Great place to stay.

So clean, so helpful, and what a value. We had been advised to choose a name-brand motel but their command of English was impossible to understand. The Carlins are delightful, so committed to provide a relaxing retreat. You can see that they have given their all to the Buckskin Lodge. We'd stay there anytime and will suggest to friend and family to do the same.

The innkeepers were so nice and friendly. We felt so welcome there and the room was perfect. We will definetely return and stay here again!

Dining was not an option. There was a coffee machine and we could get some yogurt and juice. The room was decorated very nice. The only issue was the heat was hard to regulate. Bed was very comfortable.

We stayed here for two nights because of blizzard conditions on our trip home from Christmas. Tim and Cheryl bent over backwards to accomodate my husbands wheelchair and did everything to make us comfortable with nothing less than smiles. We will definitely keep the Buckskin Lodge in mind when we're traveling.

We had a wonderfull stay. The acommodations are perfect and we both agreed "we've never slept so hard while traveling". We'll definately be back to escape the Phoenix heat or for no other reason other than to take in the beauty of area.

As my first experience at a B&B, the Buckskin Lodge made it very comfortable. While they were hesitant about letting my 18 year old friend and I stay, they did accommodate us anyway, and were very nice to us both. The rooms were great and they had all of the amenities we could ever need, including wifi. The location was perfect and you could not beat the price. Thanks for the great experience and I hope to come back here very soon.

Cozy, comfortable rooms; very, very clean. Nice owner/managers.

We had a great time. The kids got to hangout and make smores. The rooms had a DVD player in the room and movies you could checkout in the lobby. The outside BarB-Qs were outstanding for personal grilling. The only bad thing I can say was the one resturant, BarBQ, next door was unfriendly, so we didn't stay to eat. We look forward to staying again.

We enjoyed every thing about our stay at the Buckskin Lodge. We especially loved the outdoor set up with BBQ's and fire pit, and the wonderful hospitality from the staff. We will be back to visit!

I have spent a few weekends here. It is very cozy and there are some good restaurants close enough to walk to. Definitely worth a stay...........
