Cinnamon Pecan Monkey Bread: Bread

Ingredients:

  • Package Dry Yeast

  • Sticks Sweet Butter

  • Cups Milk

  • Cups Divided White Sugar

  • Tsp Salt

  • 1 Egg

  • Cups All Purpose Flour

  • Cup Whole Pecans

  • Cup Brown Sugar

  • Cup Brown Sugar

  • Tbs Cinnamon

Step 1:

Pour the dry yeast over 1/4 cup warm water. Let sit until yeast bubbles.

Step 2:

Melt 1 stick sweet butter in large glass bowl in microwave.

Step 3:

Add 2 cups milk, 1/4 cup white sugar, 1 tsp salt, 1 egg and yeast mixture to the melted butter. Mix well. Beat in 4 cups all-purpose flour. Add 1-2 cups flour, until sticky ball is formed. Put dough in greased bowl and let rise 1 1/2 hours, until doubled in size, or cover the bowl and refrigerate overnight.

Step 4:

Make a topping of 1 cup whole pecans, 1/2 cup white sugar, 1/2 cup brown sugar, and 2 tbs cinnamon. Melt 1/2 stick butter in a small bowl. Tear off fist-sized pieces of dough, dip in butter then in sugar mixture. Arrange dough pieces close together in a greased 9"x13" pan.

Step 5:

Allow to rise 1/2 hour. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
