Ingrédients

  • 1 1/2 lb fresh pork shoulder, cubed
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup lard
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon caraway seed
  • salt
  • 2 cups water, divided
  • 2 tablespoons flour

  1. Fry onion in lard.
  2. Add paprika, meat, caraway seeds and salt and brown well.
  3. Add 1/2 cup water and simmer in a covered pan until meat is tender about 1 hour
  4. Dust dripping with flour and stir until brown.
  5. Add remaining water and simmer for 10 to 20 minutes.
