The Bernerhof Cranberry Orange Scones: Breakfast-Brunch

Ingredients:

  • sifted cup Flour

  • 2 teaspoons Baking Soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt

  • 3 tablespoons sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/2 cup cream

  • 1/2 cup salted butter

  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries

  • zest of one medium orange

Step 1:

in medium size mixing bowl mix dry ingredients together. cube COLD butter and add to dry mixture until pills (careful not over work!) add cranberries and orange zest to this mixture. In separate mixing bowl lightly mix eggs and cream. Add the egg mixture to the dry mix carefully combine to form a round 3 inch high form. Careful not to overwork this dough....cut like a pizza to get 8 triangular pieces. put each piece on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush with cream and sprinkle with baking sugar for topping. Bake at 350, for 25 minutes. (note: all ovens are different, you may need to adjust the time to suit your oven)
