Czech Apple Strudel: Bread

Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup Margarine or Butter

  • 1 cup Warm Milk

  • 3 cups Sifted White Flour

  • 2 Eggs

  • 1 teaspoon Salt

  • 4 1/2 cups Apples

  • 1 cup Sugar

  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon

  • 1/2 cup Vanilla Wafers

  • 1/2 cup Raisins

  • 1/2 cup Pecans Chopped

Step 1:

Combine butter, milk, flour, eggs and salt until dough is smooth. This makes enough dough for 4 strudels. Divide into 4 equal parts. Other ingredients are per strudel so when grocery shopping, buy accordingly.

Step 2:

Roll each part of dough on pastry sheet until very thin. Brush with melted butter. Spread evenly with sliced apples. Sprinkle sugar, cinnamon, vanilla wafers, raisins and pecans.Drizzle a small amount of melted butter on top.

Step 3:

Roll up like jelly roll onto a greased baking sheet. Brush top of strudel with melted butter. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees or until golden brown.

Step 4:

Cut into 10 to 12 thin slices and serve.
