Brenham House Date Cake: Bread

8 oz Dates
1 cup Flour
2 cups Pecans
1 cup Sugar
2 tablespoons Whiskey
1 tablespoon Vanilla
2 teaspoons Baking Powder
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and spray a loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray.
Cut dates with kitchen scissors into a bowl. Add the whiskey and vanilla to bowl and set aside.
In a mixer, cream the sugar and eggs together.
Slowly add, to the mixer, the sifted flour and baking soda. Then add the chopped nuts and date mixture.
Pour into a greased loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees for one hour. Make sure the center is done to touch.
