Caramel Pecan French Toast: Breakfast-Brunch

3/4 cup butter
1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
1/4 plus 2 Tbls. light corn syrup
3/4 cup toasted pecans, chopped
12 slices sliced baguettes
1 1/4 cup milk
1 cup half and half
3 tablespoons melted butter
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
in a heavy saucepan over medium heat cook together butter, brown sugar, and light corn syrup. Bring to boil and boil for 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and pour into well greased 9 x 13 inch baking pan.
sprinkle with toasted pecans then arrange sliced baguettes in pan, overlapping slightly if necessary.
whisk together four eggs, and milk and half and half. Stir in a dash of salt and vanilla. Pour over bread, allowing to soak in evenly. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Remove from refrigerator in the morning and drizzle with melted butter then sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar mixed together. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes until golden brown and set.
