Thornton House Southern Cobbler: Breakfast-Brunch

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup Bread Flour

  • 3/4 cup Sugar

  • 3/4 cup Buttermilk

  • 2 tablespoons Baking Powder

  • 1 pinch Salt

  • 3/4 cup Fruit-cherries, raspberries etc

  • 1/2 cup Butter- (half a stick)

Step 1:

Place the half stick of butter in an 8x8 baking dish and place it in the oven at 375 till melted.

Step 2:

Mix buttermilk, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together and pour the mix into the 8x8 baking dish right on top of the melted butter.

Step 3:

Sprinkle the fruit on top evenly and generously and bake till golden brown on top and done in the middle, about 40 minutes at 375.

Step 4:

Serve while warm and sit back and enjoy something special from the south!
