2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 3/4 cups milk
6 tablespoons melted butter
8 tablespoons butter
Make the waffles: Sift the dry ingredients together in to a large bowl. Separate the eggs, putting egg whites in a medium bowl and egg yolks into another med bowl. Beat the egg yolks with a fork and add the milk. Make a well in the dry ingredients. Add the liquid to the middle and stir in gently to make a batter.Beat the egg whites with a mixer to stiff peaks. Fold gently into the batter.
Make the bananas: Put 3/4 c sugar and 1 stick of butter into a 12" fry pan. Med heat. Peel and halve the bananas lengthwise. Cut into fourths and add to the now bubbling sugar/butter mixture. Shake the pan and allow the ingredients to blend and become deeply browned. Add a little water if mixture starts to become hard. Remove to a serving bowl.
Bake the waffles to nicely browned. Put a few banana slices on 5 plates in the center and lay the waffle on top. Keep in warming oven at 180 degrees until all waffles are made. Serve with carmelized bananas.

Put into waffle maker and bake until nicely browned. Serve with Bananas Foster on the side.
