Bald Mountain House Pizza Dough: Main Dish

Servings: 8

Prep time:1.5-2 hrs.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups Warm water

  • 1 Package Active dry yeast

  • 1 teaspoon Sugar

  • 3 cups Flour

  • 1 cup Semolina flour

  • 1/3 cup Olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon Salt

Step 1:

Combine water, yeast and sugar in mixing bowl and set aside until foamy on top, about 5 min.

Step 2:

Add 1 C flour, the Semolina, the olive oil and salt. Mix with paddle attachment on mixer on low speed for 2 min.

Step 3:

Change to dough hook and mix in remaining flour 1/4 C. at a time. Continue mixing on 2nd speed for about 6 min. Dough should be slightly sticky but the bowl will be clean. Turn on to floured surface and knead about 2 min. until smooth and elastic.

Step 4:

Coat a large bowl with olive oil, place dough in bowl and then turn to coat. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise in warm place for 1- 1.5 hours.

Step 5:

Punch the dough down and divide into 2 balls. Use or wrap for storage.
