Figs on Port-wine: Dessert

Prep time:3 months
Ingredients:
2-3 bottles Port-wine (Tawny or 'not too sweet' -Ruby)
kilo dried figs
Vanilla ice
Mint leaves
Whipped cream
Step 1:
Cut off the hard edges of the dried figs and boil them in water just shortly (60-90 seconds). When ready lay them out on a clean towel to dry and cool down a little.
Step 2:
Put the pre-boild figs layer-by layer in a large jar and cover them with your Port-wine. Close the lid and let them rest for 3 months.
Step 3:
For every next party you'll have the best dessert ever easily available. Put some Vanilla -Ice on every plate. Add 3-5 Figs per person+ some of the (now) port-wine sauce. And complete it with some mint leaves.
Step 4:
The supply of Figs in Port-wine will stay good over a year!!
