Oakland Cottage Bed and Breakfast
Peanut Brittle: Dessert

1 cup Sugar
2 tablespoon Butter
1/2 to 1 cup Nuts (peanuts or pecans)
This is so easy you will never buy peanut brittle again!
Melt the sugar in a skillet on medium heat, cast iron works best. As you stir, the sugar will become crumbly first, then smooth as it melts. Stir constantly to avoid burning the sugar.
Once the sugar has fully melted, stir in butter and nuts of choice.
While hot, pour on greased cookie pan, 8X12 or larger (one with a rim, not a sheet), allowing the mixture to spread out over the sheet.
Let cool. Break into pieces. Peanut Brittle makes a wonderful Christmas treat or gift. It makes a good afternoon sweet treat to set out on a coffee/tea station for your guests to enjoy.
