Baked Peach French Toast: Breakfast-Brunch
Servings: 6
Prep time:15 minutes
Ingredients:
1/2 cup Brown Sugar
2 tablespoon water
1/2 stick butter
5 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
sprinkle cinnamon
Bread slices
enough to cover Fruit variety - canned or fresh
Step 1:
On medium to low heat, boil for approximately 8 minutes, brown sugar, water & butter. Pour into greased 8x12 baking pan
Step 2:
Add any variety of fruit on top of brown sugar mixture. I usually use canned or fresh peaches, but strawberries, berries, apples all work well, mixed or alone, fresh, frozen or canned.
Step 3:
Cut french bread loaf in 1" slices and lay onto fruit. Any type of bread may be used. I like to use raisin cinnamon bread with apple slices for the fruit.
Step 4:
Whisk egg, milk & vanilla and pour ontop of bread. Sprinkle with Cinnamon. Set in fridge overnight or for 8 hours, covered with aluminum foil.
Step 5:
Bake at 350 covered for about 20 minutes, then uncover and bake 30 more minutes or until golden brown & firm to the touch. Flip to serve and garnish with orange slice.
