Bananas Praline

Sauce
Temps de cuisson: 20 min
Portions: 6

Ingrédients

  • 1/2 Package Light Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Cream or Half and Half
  • 3 Pats Butter - NOT margarine
  • to taste Vanilla
  • to taste Cinnamon
  • to taste Nutmeg

  1. In your grandmother's iron skillet, combine a package of light brown sugar, some cream (or half and half), a nob of butter, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg to taste.
  2. Heat over low flame while stirring with a wooden spoon. Do not boil or you will have candy rather than Praline sauce. If it's too thick, add more cream; if too thin, add more brown sugar.
  3. Slice the 6 bananas in half, then slilce each half length-wise. Slide banana slices into warm sauce and heat for about two minutes.
  4. Lift banana slices onto a pretty glass plate or compote, garnish with fresh, ripe strawberries and fresh mint. Serve with your favorite fancy cookie.
  5. Graciously accept accolades.
