Baked French Toast: Breakfast-Brunch
Servings: 6
Prep time:30 min
Ingredients:
1 loaf French Bread
5 eggs
1 cup milk
1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup brown sugar
1 stick butter (not margarine)
1/2 cup honey
Step 1:
Slice French bread diagonally into six (6) 1" thick slices. Day old bread is better than fresh.
Step 2:
Place butter, honey, and brown sugar in small saucepan. Heat at low temperature on stove until butter is melted and honey and brown sugar are well blended.
Step 3:
Pour brown sugar mixture into greased 9x13 inch pan. Place bread slices on top of mix.
Step 4:
Whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon until well blended. Pour over bread slices so that each slice is soaked with mixture. Sprinkle with a little extra cinnamon. Cover with aluminum foil and refrigerate over night.
Step 5:
Bake at 350 degrees uncovered for about 30 minutes or until bread feels a little crusty to touch. Serve with a dollop of fresh whipped cream.
