Apple Streusel Baked French Toast: Breakfast-Brunch

1 cup Half and Half
2 tablespoons Maple Syrup
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
French Bread sliced about 1 inch thick
1 cup Oatmeal
1/2 cup Flour
1/2 cup Butter
1 1/2 teaspoons Cinnamon
Whisk eggs, 1/2 and 1/2, syrup, spices in flat bottomed bowl. Dip bread slices and allow to soak. Place in greased baking dish. Top with grated, peeled apple.
Mix oatmeal, butter, flour, cinnamon with mixer until it resembles moist crumbs. Sprinkle over bread slices.
Bake at 350 degrees 15 - 20 minutes until puffed and golden. Serve with pure maple syrup.
