Bacon Twists: Side Dish

Ingredients:

• 

  1 cup Light Brown Sugar, Packed

• 

  2 tablespoons Dry Mustard

• 

  1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon

• 

  1/2 tablespoon Nutmeg

• 

  1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper, Regular not Thick

Step 1:

Mix all spices together. Spread in pile on wax paper. Let bacon soften, so that it will be easy to twist.

Step 2:

Dip each slice of bacon in spice mixture on both sides, then twist tightly. Place on broiler pans (lined for easier cleaning); you can put the bacon close together.

Step 3:

Bake at 350 degrees until bacon is almost crispy and sugar bubbly (about 30 minutes).

Step 4:

Some bacon will come untwisted when first put in oven; check it and re-twist. When almost done, take the bacon out of ovenand put on cookie sheet. Turn oven off and place back in oven to keep warm. Any bacon not quite cooked will finish cooking.
