Homemade Granola: Breakfast-Brunch

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cup Honey

  • 1 4 oz. stick Margarine

  • 7 cups Oatmeal (not instant)

  • 1 cup Almonds - sliced

  • 1 cup Sunflower seeds - roasted

  • 1 cup Pecans - chopped

  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon (ground)

  • 1 cup Raisins

  • 1 cup Dried apricots (diced)

Step 1:

In a small saucepan, melt margarine and add honey. Warm over low heat until honey has thinned. Set aside and keep warm.

Step 2:

In a large bowl combine oats, almonds, sunflower seeds, pecans and cinnamon. Add margarine-honey mix and stir thoroughly. Place mixture in a large shallow pan such as a jelly-roll pan or roasting pan in a shallow, even layer (you may need more than one pan).

Step 3:

Bake in oven at 275 degrees for about 45 minutes until browned and crisp, stirring mixture every 10 minutes. Remove from oven and add raisins and apricots while still warm.

Step 4:

Let cool, pack into zip-lock or air tight containers and freeze until used.
