Oatmeal Nut Waffles: Breakfast-Brunch

1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups milk
1/4 cup melted butter
2 eggs (well beaten)
2 tablespoons honey
1 cup old fashioned rolled oats
1 cup chopped walnuts*
*can substitute 1/2 to 1 cup unsalted sunflower seeds
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add milk, eggs, melted butter and honey. Stir in oats and nuts. Pour batter onto greased hot griddle or large frypan. When bubbled on top, turn over until lightly brown on other side. Serve with maple syrup and whipped cream.
Can add fresh fruit to vary the taste.
