Hot Mulled Cider

  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • inch piece cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • dash salt
  • 2 quart apple juice or cider

  1. Put dry ingredients in the top of a 40 cup percolator and pour the apple juice into the percolator. Turn on the percolator and enjoy the cider when it is ready.
  2. An alternate method is to wrap the dry ingredients in a clean old dish towel and secure with a twist tie. Put in a pot with the apple cider and simmer for half an hour.
  3. Guests at the Ant Street Inn enjoy this hot beverage at Social Time on Friday and Saturday evenings from 5:30-6:30 in the cooler months of the year.
