Whispering Pines Bed and Breakfast
Overnight Coffee Cake: Breakfast-Brunch
Prep time:20 Minutes
2/3 cup Butter
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 cup Flour (I use 1 c whole wheat and 1 cup white)
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup yogurt (or buttermilk)
Preheat oven to 350º. Sift first 5 ingredients. Cream butter & sugars; add eggs. Add in dry flour mixture w/yogurt. Spread dough in greased & floured 9x13 pan.
Sprinkle w/topping. Topping: Combine 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Refrigerate 8 hours or overnight. Bake at 350º for 45 mins. Freezes well.
