Desperation Sausage-served with Fr. Bread Casserole: Breakfast-Brunch

Ingredients:

• 

  1 lb sausage-precooked all beef

• 

  2-approx 20 oz cans apple pie filling - medium to large apple slices

Step 1:

Slice sausage and lightly brown in skillet.

Step 2:

Place apple pie filling in crock pot on low setting. Add browned sausage and simmer for approximatley 45 minutes. Stir every 15 minutes.

Step 3:

Serve with Birk's French Bread Casserole.

Step 4:

The name was arrived at with our first guests while we were still moving in. They arrived at the door looking for a room. Naturally I said "sure" (the rooms were ready). Dianne had to come up with something to serve from items on hand in the pantry and frig. So "deseration sausage" was invented. -Rick
