Scottish Shortbread: Dessert
Prep time:10 minutes
1 lb Butter (do not substitute)
3 1/2 cups Flour
1/2 cup Rice Flour
1 cup Sugar
2 tablespoons Colored Sanding Sugar
Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Cream butter with sugar.
Blend in flours. Knead for about 1 minute and press into 10 x 15 baking sheet. Sprinkle colored sugar over dough. (Regular white sugar can be used if you wish)
Chill dough in refrigerator for about 15 minutes.
Bake at 300 degrees for about 20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and immediately cut into 48 pieces. Let cool before removing from pan.
