Whole Wheat Brownies: Dessert

10 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup dark brown sugar
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
3/4 cup whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup bittersweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
Melt butter over low heat in medium saucepan. Add sugar, stirring to blend.
Whisk cocoa powder, flour, baking soda, salt. Add to pan & stir. Mixture will be dry. Remove from heat.
Whisk eggs & vanilla and add to brownie mixture. Stir in the chocolate chips quickly and turn into a 9X13 foil-lined baking pan.
Bake at 375 for 15 minutes or until crust is set but middle is still soft. Cool & cut into 24 squares, then into 48 triangles, if desired.
