Lemon Bread

Ingrédients

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cooking oil
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • juice of one lemon
  • 1/3 cup sugar

  1. Combine wet ingredients except lemon juice.
  2. Combine dry ingredients, except 1/3 cup sugar. Then mix with wet ingredients; stir thoroughly.
  3. Pour batter into a 4-1/2" X 8-1/2" greased loaf pan and bake 325 degrees until toothpick inserted in center comes out dry -- approximately 1 hour.
  4. Make lemon glaze by combining lemon juice and 1/3 cup sugar; heat in microwave at full power for one minute.
  5. Cool bread for 10 minutes, then using a chop stick or ice pick, poke 15-20 holes in top of loaf. Drizzle hot lemon glaze over loaf. Cool completely, then slice.
