2 cups fresh blueberries
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2/3 cup granulated sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/3 cup Crisco shortening
2 tablespoons Crisco shortening
3/4 cup milk
1 large egg
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
Preheat oven to 375 degrees and grease a 9" round cake pan.
Mix 1 c. blueberries with ? c. flour and set aside.
Stir together 1 ? c. flour, granulated sugar and baking powder.
Add together and beat until smooth: 1/3 c. shortening, milk and egg.
Combine dry and creamed mixtures and add floured berries.
Pour into 9” round greased cake pan.
Sprinkle with remaining 1 c. berries.
Mix remaining ? c. flour, 2 tblsp. shortening, chopped nuts, brown sugar and allspice.
Mix until crumbly.
Sprinkle mix over berries.
Bake at 375 degrees for 45-50 min; or until cake tester comes out clean.
Makes approximately 8-10 servings.

If you wish, substitute other fresh fruit such as whole cranberries, or mix with blueberries.
