The Inn at Folkston

– Folkston, GA

The INN at Folkston - rated three-diamonds by AAA - is located only 40 minutes north of the Jacksonville (Florida) International Airport (JAX), making The INN the perfect stop for I-95 travelers who want to do a little sightseeing along the way. The beautifully restored 1920s bungalow provides an atmosphere of casual elegance, and a refuge for business travelers, Rail Fans, birdwatchers and other nature-loving tourists, as well as a romantic getaway. Sitting on nearly two acres overlooking tall pines, magnolias, and other magnificant trees, The INN is just a short walk from Folkston's historic downtown shops and restaurants. The City of Folkston, known as the Gateway to the Okefenokee Swamp (just 10 minutes southwest) is also home to the famous Folkston Funnel Train Viewing Platform. Business travelers find the small town atmosphere a welcome change from the big city and appreciate The INN's free Wi-Fi access. The South Georgia coast, including Cumberland and Jekyll Islands, is reached within an hour or less, as is the First Coast of Florida. Guests are always amazed at the size of the interior. Our wide hallways and four large guest rooms are all complete with private baths. Each guest room is uniquely decorated, containing its own private library, allergy-free feather beds, clock radios, phones, central air and heat, ceiling fans, robes, hair dryers, spring water, fresh flowers and other fine amenities. Two King guestrooms have gas log fireplaces, the Garden Suite adds a two-person whirlpool tub.

"A View of Savannah from Home Plate"

"If all of Savannah were a baseball stadium then staying at the Park Avenue Manor is like watching the game from behind home plate. My wife and I had a wonderful time there and we absolutely felt at home in this wonderful B&B. We were there for 4 days and were able to walk to wherever we wanted: SCAD, Telfair museums, Owens-Thomas house. Crystal Beer Garden, Firefly restaurant. Upon our return there was always Sherry and Brownies waiting for us in the parlor. The courtyard is a sequestered gem. A nice area to end the evening over a glass of wine. During our visit, there was a concert across the street by the Lt. Dan Band featuring none other then Gary Sinise, which was a wonderful coincidence considering that Savannah was the backdrop for Forest Gump. Maurice and Glen were wonderful hosts. Breakfast was fulfilling (walnut crusted French toast... yummy ) and they accommodated to my vegetarian diet. The conversation was always lively with the other guests who were like our rotating "family" during our stay. Wi-Fi service was excellent. Our room was well laid out and comfortable. A totally classy place to stay. A definite Grand Slam!!! We'll be back..."
