Built in 1926 the Hotel still houses the original Otis Elevator. Operating as a Bed and Breakfast the recently restored second floor has 16 uniquely sized and decorated rooms with private bathrooms. Breakfast is included with each stay. Also located in the building are award winning restaurants, the Thai blossom, and the Chef's Table for fine dining, in addition on the first floor is a classic Ice cream shop and a barber shop. The famous West Orange Trail which is great for biking, runs just in front of the hotel. We are one of the few bed and breakfast's near Orlando. We are located only 20-30 minutes away from popular attractions in Orlando, including Disney World.

5 out of 5Great town, great hotel, great restaurants

Edgewater is a lovely older hotel that occupies the second floor of a historic building in the quaint town of Winter Garden. We enjoyed staying there and meeting some of the staff. I would love to visit them again when we travel back to Florida.

Having a couple of days to fill in prior to heading to the beach, we chose the Edgewater based on the price and the location. The historic community was great, with fun shops and restaurants to visit within a few blocks of the hotel. The Edgewater hotel was charming and historic as advertized. The experince there was acceptable and we would likely stay there again if we were to visit the area. You should not expect luxury accomodations and the breakfast, while made to order, was just OK. The place was not exceptionally clean, but not discusting either. All in all we enjoyed our stay, just keep your expectations realistic for this type of a facility. The staff was very nice and helpful.
3.8 out of 5An Evening at Edgewater
February 25, 2012
My wife and I stayed at the Edgewater Hotel for one night before heading out on our honeymoon. The rooms were immaculately clean, the hotel had a wonderfully historic atmosphere, and the included breakfast was delicious. We found the birds in cages charming, and were blown away by the piano player in the lobby. (Not sure if he was a guest or employee.) There is really only one complaint: With absolutely no exaggeration the water-temperature swung between scalding and ice-cold roughly every 30 seconds. The "hot" and "cold" knobs were more suggestions than controls. To be fair, though, we assumed that this was because the building is older than the vampire LeStat (who may have been roaming the hallways). An extremely accommodating staff and a quaint location rounded out our brief but enjoyable stay. All in all, we would definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful time. The decor was second to none. Our room was the Honeymoon Sweet which overlooked the city square. We made new friends at the breakfast table which was custom made to our liking. I highly advise anyone who enjoys early 1900's decor and furniture to stay here. The only issue is that the town cock is right outside the B&B and chimes every 15 minutes. So if you want to sleep in, I would not recommend a room towards the front of the building.

4.0 out of 5A nice change from traditional Orlando resorts.
August 28, 2010
Great value stay, and fascinating how much of it is original and restored. Staff are all helpful. We enjoyed most hearing stories from the tour bus driver during breakfast (hotel owned by musicians). We appreciated the flexible serving times for breakfast starting at 7am and simply being able to order a hot breakfast considering many larger bnbs just do continentals. Ice cream shop open late downstairs was also nice to stop at after a day out. I would also have liked to have included the trail and bike shop right outside the door as a plus, but unfortunatly I didn't have time to use it. Next time! The only complaint I would have is that they need to kick out the parked cars from the bar people from the parking lot! A few times we would come to park and had to find a side street because people were illegaly parked in the hotel lot. A hotel member did say that they were probably going to start towing...please do!
5 out of 5Great stay, great value
April 27, 2010
We enjoy staying at bed and breakfasts and this one is a winner. The ambience was of a 1930's hotel, but the comfort was fully up to date: wi fi, good showers, comfortable bed, TV in the rooms. We had a great time.
5 out of 5A Place to Stay!
March 29, 2010
We just stayed on March 27,2010 and were very pleased with the location, staff and accomodations. A really cool place to stay. We had to leave early in the morning and the staff even insured I had fresh coffee at 5:30 am. The Thai restrauant in the same building was very good and even took in a local play just down the street. Would definelely return when back in the area!
